Oilers Now reporting it’s a paper transaction, Persson more than likely going Saturday, Bouchard just a safety recall in case Persson can’t.

Sounds like 6-8 weeks minimum for Larsson.

This is bad. Guys like Lars are sposed to insulate the new guys against tough minutes. So now we’ll see rookie D playing up the lineup... this most likely hurts their development as well as tanking this team.

LTIR doesn’t actually give cap space unless you’re over the cap.

not necessarily true - it increases your ability to go over. So if Holland was looking at adding a 4-5 mil cap hit player, but didn’t have quite enough room...

They’re only saving 2 million this year with his buyout. They move Brodziak to LTIR and not sign one of the numerous bottom six forwards we signed this off season and that’s over 2 million.

So the play that Larss got injured on was probably an offside. Should have been cleared puck if we didn't whiff (think it was Archibald?). This organization has so much bad luck.

My ONLY slim sliver of hope in this situation is that somehow Bouchard will come in and start bringing that dimension that the Oilers have been missing for a decade. A puck moving D-man that can actually get pucks on net and be a scoring threat on a regular basis. But now it seems like he most likely won't be up and we'll play Persson who's just as inexperienced in the NHL and brings less offense. AND Benning is still on this team.

Honestly, this could be a blessing in disguise. Larsson hasn't been too good lately and Bouchard adds a lot of skill to the backend
