Back to back...do you come right back with Forsberg or do you go fresh with Korpi? They should be able to win with either one.

In terms of the overall match-up, I'd say the Ontario Reign (their chant Go Reign Go sounds like Go Rainbow, so I suggest calling them the Rainbows), are a really solid minor league team. The Monsters have more raw talent spread through their lineup.

There was a lot of frustrating times the Monsters couldn't manage a breakout, took the outside shots or had four brilliant passes in the offensive zone and never actually shot on net (Hannikainen especially). Shots that were made, weren't always the best decisions (Zaar from impossible angles outside, Broadhurst shooting square to the logo on the goalie's chest), but you can see the talent is there. That fourth goal was pure determination. They went out and scored.

Why they won was the pure speed up and down the lineup. And Anton Forsberg. He's really put things together. Very smooth and efficient with movement. Rebounds were really under control.

I focused on watching Rychel a lot just to see what exactly is going on with him, and there were quite a few shifts he never touched the puck and when he did, it was like he was playing hot potato with the puck. But his speed is tremendous. I think it was Kukan who pinched in and the Rainbows went on a breakaway. Rychel flew back and took away the pass. It was perfectly played defensively.

I wish Werenski had been paired with someone more talented than Eminger (who was fairly useless and failed to keep pucks in at the line far too often). Zaar was playing the point in the PP with Werenski and that really was working well with puck movement.

Thanks, Jason, that's a very fair report. Here's a similar look from the Monster's side:

http://www.jacketscannon.com/2016/5/22/11735514/monsters-take-game-1-from-ontario-4-3

" skate and skate and skate until their legs melt beneath them."

We started to think about them in terms of the Texas Stars last night in the box for a comparison. At their best moments the Monsters were just on it with loose pucks and breaking up plays in the neutral zone. Very entertaining stuff to watch. All stems from really good skating.

Thanks - I have not watched much of Lake Erie but I have seen a number of their players play before. Is that really their 1st to 4th line by minutes played? Be nice if the AHL site had TOI as a stat.
