He's not playing in the NHL because his rights are controlled and the team dictates pretty much everything. Yes, he can choose not to sign but he is costing them nothing.

Youve posted the "better than Willy in Europe argument" twice, its bad, Sparks isnt the best backup in the league if we flipped Nylander for Cam Ward it would help our team more than Willy in Europe is right now.

What is it that you think that they control, his choice of hairstyle? The only thing out of their control is if he signs an offer sheet, at which point they get back a pre-defined return and their cost is still controlled.....they just get to make a choice.
