I’m hoping Kopitar

That’s an interesting comparison I haven’t seen thrown out there yet. I could see him playing a little bit like Anze, minus the handful of 30-35 goal seasons.

I still think Kirby settles in anywhere from 15-25 goals a season. Can’t see him potting 30+ a year regularly.

I can see it if he stays in front of the net a lot like he’s set up on the power play. Think JVR type clean up man, but obviously better than him everywhere else on the ice.

The Kopitar comparison is hopefully more on the defensive side if things and using his size to his advantage.

I've thrown the Kopitar comparison out there a bit. Kopitar has had more seasons in the 25-29 goal range but in his monster seasons has scored more.

With Dach's netfront presence I think you're selling him short in the goal department. He's going to score a lot of greasy goals. I absolutely think he can score 30+ in his best years.

Dach needs to learn how to win faceoffs, and if he does the Kopitar comp is pretty damn close.

Kopitar scored more than 25 goals 5 times in 14 seasons and over 30 3 times. Most seasons he was in the 20-25 range and I think that's pretty reasonable for Dach.

So if the NHL starts on Jan. 13, that means training camp begins right after the New Year. Do the Hawks let Kirby play through the end of World Juniors and join the team a few days late? Is there mandatory quarantine for him when he arrives or does he just have to be clear on COVID tests?

There's been a lot of positive tests in WJC camps so I wonder if the WJC is in jeopardy of not happening at all.

Think they let him play the whole tourney.
If he misses a few games and training camp so be it. Think this will be a great experience for him.

It's happening. The same thing happened with the NHL before everyone went in the bubble. A slew of positive tests and then it was fine inside the bubble.

Team Canada will play against the 5th string national teams if need be. The Canadian TV stations want the viewers. It's gonna be huge. People staying home for the holidays due to COVID, everyone will watch. If Kirby is allowed to play and does as expected he's gonna be a superstar in Canada.

now that is what I am talking about...Love that forward lineup...Kurashev and Barrett may swap spots...and Kubalik loves the left side though...Not sure if Reichel could play the right side...

Don't have the link to the tweet but Kirby Dach will be staying with Team Canada through the WJC so long as he doesn't miss any NHL games.
