We're just not valuing Leaf players correctly in this thread. According to a Leaf fans here, when evaluating Leaf players you need to remember:
if a short sample size favours the Leaf player, you MUST use that as his value. For example, you can't use any other season other than this one for Kapanen as they place him as a solid 3rd or 4th liner. You MUST use this season's short sample size as he had a hot start and it favours him.
However, if the current season does not favour the Leaf player then you MUST use whatever time period Leaf fans decide makes their player look best, for his value. That's why this season MUST be ignored when evaluating Nylander.
