So we'll ignore the fact Drouin has hit 50 points once in his career?

Well i live in the now.

Lucic had 60 point seasons in the past too, but i ain't interested in him, his salary and lack of production.

And he's 22 and has 3 pts in 19 games, with a huge cap that is longterm.

Live in the now my friend. Don't live in the past.

Don't judge everything by right now and ignore larger sample sizes.

19 games is a pretty good chunk of games to judge Nylander. Not saying that he will continue his PPG pace. But he really sucks right now. lol

You're clearly putting way too much into the 19 games. Recency bias.

You are clearly ignoring how poor he is playing. Blue Goggles.

The true battle for Willie was to get that contract, now is the time to relax and get laid back. 3p in 19gp shows hes taking it easy.

We're just not valuing Leaf players correctly in this thread. According to a Leaf fans here, when evaluating Leaf players you need to remember:

if a short sample size favours the Leaf player, you MUST use that as his value. For example, you can't use any other season other than this one for Kapanen as they place him as a solid 3rd or 4th liner. You MUST use this season's short sample size as he had a hot start and it favours him.

However, if the current season does not favour the Leaf player then you MUST use whatever time period Leaf fans decide makes their player look best, for his value. That's why this season MUST be ignored when evaluating Nylander.

Sorry, HFBoards those are just the little valuation details you must take into account when assessing Leaf players.

Disagree. I’d give Nylander the clear hair edge. Looks like he’s been working hard on it over his sabbatical instead of getting in game shape.

Nylander grew some horrid-looking facial hair. Edge: Drouin!

Drouin more talented. Will prolly beat Nylander career high in goals and points. Nylander 1 year younger.

With that being the case, and the fact the a few leafs are even better than Willy, you’d think that by the second week of February the leafs would more than one point ahead of Habs in the standings.

According to every Leafs fan, the Leafs have:
    - Equal if not superior goaltending than Montreal
    - Equal if not superior defensemen than Montreal
    - Their 5th/6th best players are better than EVERY single player on Montreal's roster

But yet they're only ahead by 1 point in the standings. :sarcasm:

Here's hoping for a nice 1st round exit to Toronto by yours truly: the Habs.

Drouin was Drouin tonight. Fast selfish player that lacks hockey IQ.

Nylander is better than every Habs forward.

Nylander has been helped pointed in 20 of his 26 games this season, so **** talking his abysmal play is actually quite easy.
