Him hitting 1st guaranteed him getting most of the at bats so that was a problem. All he did was hit soft singles and nothing else.
Just to add:
The following players had a better OBP than the Hitz King on the 2015 Jays:
Jose Bautista
Edwin Encarnacion
Josh Donaldson
Chris Colabello
Devon Travis
Having the 6th best OBP doesn't sound too bad. And it would've been fine if he hit soft singles
and got on base, but he didn't. The fact that he couldn't take a walk hindered him significantly because for as much as he was able to get hits, that was kneecapped by the fact that he
should've been able to reach base far more frequently than he did.
For consideration, if we set players to need a minimum of 50PAs with the 2015 Jays, the following players had worse walk rates than Ben Revere's 5.3%:
Danny Valencia
Kevin Pillar
That's it.
I mean... Ben Revere posted a .354 OBP with the Blue Jays while hitting .314. Cavan Biggio has for his MLB career posted a .363 OBP while hitting like 80 points worse than that.
That's mind boggling.
