Strange take to be honest, why exactly he will not improve significantly next season?

I mean you could be right but I just don't get the logic behind the opinion.

He's going to be a 19 years old kid playing in the NHL. Last year is basically the best you can reasonably expect from him at this stage of his development. Especially if he's used in tougher matchups next season. If he surpasses his offensive output significantly, that's fantastic. But I'm not holding my breath.

If he doesn't get top-6 ice time then he'll be hard pressed to have a better season statistically. No matter how good you are, when you're on the third line there's only so much you can do.

I would also expect him to be less sheltered this coming year, which would hurt his numbers whether he gets better or not. Now this is talking strictly points not overall play. So it's quite possible he improves his game significantly, yet ends up with similar point totals.

Kotka is tied for 45th overall in scoring for U-19 players all time but if you take out any players outside the 2000's, he would be 21st OA behind Crosby, Laine, Skinner, Mackinnon, Duchene, Hischer, RNH, Kovalchuk, Gagner, McDavid, Stamkos, Dahlin, Jordan Staal, Nash, Bergeron, Ekblad, Svechnikov, Gaborik, Nichushkin, Tim Connolly.

I imagine we all hope so. Wish he was fully healthy so he’d spend the whole offseason bulking since his biggest issue is clearly strength.

He definitely had his confidence shook and struggled mightily at the end of the season. Not worried about him at all though.

Well he was scratched after having like 6 points in his 10 previous games. Kid was probably overthinking it.

honestely it is stupid... kid now days performs when they are comfortable in their environements, i get the point where you need to earn your spot but that should be strictly from a line up perspective. Spot reserved for vets in the Salon room? i'm pretty sure even veterans don't give a f***, where's the team bonding and chemistry when you create private space for groups?? that's so 1980.

LOL Clode "So what's your name?" - hahaha come on man the kid just landed... you have to think it's a joke. Kotka says he was 'poker faced' throughout that exchange, I mean there's no way CJ doesn't know Kotka's name by July 2018.

Mind blowing. Kahun and Marcus Pettersson getting votes over KK? It’s fine though. Barkov didn’t come close to winning it in his rookie season and look how he turned out.

Kotkaniemi is a nice player but not an outstanding first line center. Suzuki or Peehling may supersede him. Anyway, the Habs have sufficient depth at that position.

The kid has some tools and skill,he didn't show poorly last season. Has a nice shot and plays D not bad,and yet 18. Good smarts and passing ability,needs to work on getting faster though.

Ya well they got him listed at 6'2?3? and 185? he's not even close to that. I remember being that height and weight and it was only an issue in front of the net.
