have you noticed that this is not just another guy? maybe you've noticed that I generate overall in-season player effectiveness ratings. when I do that, guys with low minutes get asterisks to denote their likely outlying status. Jesse's star marking has been removed, so I am posting this update in the dude's player discussion thread:

MAR 80 - COY 86 - PAS 91
van 85 - ZAC 81 - DeB 97
FRE 92 - POI 84 - GEE 86
HEI 97 - BOQ 125 - LAU 57
GRZ 81 - McA 91
LIN 88 - CAR 100
FOR 104 - SHA 62
SWA 92
ULL 86

MER 101* - STE 67 - BRO 56* - BEE 55 - LUC 49*
MIT 101 - WOT 83 - LOH 61
BUS *
I’ve noticed that he shouldn’t be considered as 30% more effective than a top-five Hart Trophy candidate.

Hell baby
He played Well- he set up one of mcavoys goals. He’s a really dedicated backchecker. I kind of like his game. Took him a few to get going- he looked like AHL fodder at that point- but the last few he’s playing like a guy who may end up winning a spot in the lineup
Naturally had a really bad back check last night because I made this post but he did also make a nifty pass to set up a goal

to me he’s an NHL’er, he’s one of those guys I could see going to the Kraken or something and breaking out

Do you custom edit guys in nhl 24 to these stats?

Not meaning at all to be a prick, but doesn't an effectiveness rating that shows Boqvist as being better than guys like Pasta and Marchand make you pause and consider that maybe you need to make some changes to the model? Like you don't even need analytics of any sort to tell you Pastrnak brings more to the team than Boqvist and Heinen

Genuine question: when you watch a game do you see Boqvist as better than Pasta or Forbort as the best Dman?

thought that was boqvist's best game as a bruin today. i don't know if he's capable of bringing this level consistently, but
the guy today is a legit good hockey player and brings speed that we lack.
Agree on all points. He skates very well. I think he busts his ass at games. Nice to see him score.

He's more experienced than Beecher and it shows when comparing their overall play but Beecher is the superior faceoff guy. I wonder if having the two together on the 4th line would work. Bo certainly skates hard, and while not a huge guy, knows a 4th liners roll has to lean towards having a grindy, physical mentality and he hasn't shied away from that part.

All the new guys looked good today. Brazzeau looked good and was always in position even though it was reported, he couldn't skate. Richards and Boquist can really motor. And they all threw a couple of hits.

just when I`m tired of watching Boqvist, he plays a game like yesterday. Still wish we had some nasty on that 4th line but also understand, not a ton of those type of players around these days

Gets better every game. Talented kid. Not sure his ceiling goes beyond where he is now, but he’s making the most of it.

Mr. Make-Believe

The happy genius of my household
he's starting to look like that marcus johansson clone i thought i saw in NJ at times
In our preseason predictions thread, that's the role I had him playing. Stapled to Coyle's wing. My opinion of him is still in recovery after his start to the year and indifference in Providence.

Getting better...

Is there a Top 9 forward there? He's always had skill and good feet.

I'd still like someone bigger, better defensively and better on face-offs centering my 4th line.

Him and Geekie have sneaky talent

Offensively Geekie is giving the Bruins basically what Coyle did in that 3rd line C spot. Half a PPG center. Defensively he's not as strong as Coyle, but Coyle is also paid a fair bit more.

Boqvist is probably on the biggest heater we've seen from a 4th liner in awhile. His confidence is growing and I'd be surprised if they bring in enough help up front to push Boqvist out of the line-up.
