He looked amazing at the worlds. Heres hoping we see more of that this year.
Looking back I'm honestly surprised he didn't catch more flak. Last time he really played with decent and healthy player was 15-16 back when Couts got away from usual suspects and had a great stretch wit Jake on the left and Simmer on the right. Ever since then Simmer's been a PP specialist at best and Jake bounced between, crippled G, Filppula or Patrick who for the most part has always looked to be a step behind the play. Kinda funny that everyone seems to be at their best when being centered by Couts.

Jak is certainly frustrating. But he’s been bogged down by getting stuck with subpar centers for much of the last 2 seasons. I hope they reunite him with G & Couturier; but if they don’t at least he’ll have Hayes.

On the other hand only stretches of good play Nolan had was with Jake so that would probably hurt both his confidence and development, but we are all conditioned to expect just that. Forr the price Hayes signed he should be able to drive his own line, but we will see about that. I wonder who will be the typical skilled guy in AV's doghouse while some high effort nobody will keep getting all the chances in the world as is the case with most coaches.

Garbage one-dimensional player who only helps the team do the #1 indisputable most important part of the entire sport. I hate scoring!

Hopefully we can trade him for a goon or something!

I could see JVR playing with Patrick & whatever rookie makes it. Either JVR or Lindblom stands to start the season with Patrick, with the other playing with Hayes.

I highly doubt you’ll see Jak with Patrick much this season. Patrick will have to make do without him.

Reminder....Jake was tied for 11th in ES scoring for RW'ers this year....and he is 9th over the last 2 years.

Side note: Konecny is 16th in ES scoring over the last 2 years.

Teams routinely win with offensively minded wingers. I'd prefer to let him do what he does best instead of trying to make him into something else.
