Hindsight is 20 20 huh? Most folks on this board knew he was up for a raise and was barely scoring 11 goals per year.
Nahhh. Personally he was my favorite player, and worked his ass off on the ice. Low production, sure. But there's much more to his game that was visible and valuable.

I miss Arturri.

His family is all over the place...

His sister is playing for Frölunda HC in the SDHL (pro Sweden women league).
His little brother Gabe is with Boston College.
His dad is a development coach with Chicago.
Still is closer to bro and dad than in Anaheim... sometimes it hits them hard after the first year or two. He might bounce back, or not, price was a meh so it's a nice gamble.

We also had a shit ton of forwards on the roster from Bergevin, so trading guys like Toffoli/Lehkonen made lots of sense given they had plenty of value at the time and due to their age weren't guys who fit the rebuild.

Seems like a bang on assessment...

And with Heineman, Farrell, Davidson already in Laval, plus Tuch, Xhekaj, Kapanen &? on their way next season, swapping bottom 6 prospect depth to take a swing on a kid with top 6 tools/ceiling (albeit longshot) makes sense.
There is certainly not much room for Mysak in this organization.

I think Kapanen is our most underrated prospect and will carve out a long career as a 3rd line center who can chip in a bit of offense.

Remember he played for the worst AHL team in the last three year. Third worst under Joel Bouchard in his first year, dead last by 20 points in the AHL in his second year, and this year they are the 7th worst team in the AHL.

Laval also sucks, but they scored more as they cheated because their defense and defensive system f***ing sucks, so they might be able to get his totals up

Laval are not amongst the worst AHL teams in the last three year. Stop the crazy sh*t.

No, I mean just this year they suck, too, but scored a lot because of their inability to defend, so they'd cheat for offense in a way, which could be why Mysak increased and could increase for Perreault

I love how many pages are already on this thread for a trade of a 4th liner on our farm team.

I don't even get it. Mysak is an interesting prospect, but where would most prospect watchers rank him in the prospect pool. 10th? 15th? 20th?

Perreault has stagnated in the AHL, but he also went to the AHL at a really young age. and has really nice offensive tools. If you like guys like Beck, Kapanen, etc. then this is the kind of gamble on skill that most on here had been wishing Bergevin did for a decade.

Its a relatively low risk and likely low reward move that makes sense on the surface for Montreal.

San Diego has been one of the worst teams in the league the last 3 years. Laval is going through a rough patch now, but they are still in the playoff picture. And the last two seasons, they made the playoffs, and in one of those seasons, they made the conference final.

Also, the reason Laval scores a lot of goals isn't because they cheat, it's because their style of play has the defensemen activate in the offensive zone. And it's a playing style the Habs play.

We'll see how Perreault fits. He might start on a line with Maillet and Farrell.
