You think im shocked at that? I know they suck at developing our forwards too
I'm just mocking Thompson, who i wish we would move on from.

For the record, I am being hyperbolic in regards to Bridgeport fwds... we have had a few successful graduates, but overall I feel pretty lukewarm in regards to the Sound Tigers forward development.

This is the one area where Lou has been disappointing IMO. It would be nice for our prospects to play for a competitive team before transitioning to the show.

trotz did say something about how "You have to play in bridgeport first before making the NHL", which isn't a bad quote at all: the problem is that the sound tigers are not a good way to start as a player compared to the islanders who are a completely different team.

It really seems like he is starting to take off.

I have high hopes for the kid, which I hope are not misplaced - he is definitely my pet prospect at the moment.
He's also a center, so im keeping an eye on him. If the isles need a replacement for zeeker, it could be him or koivula

I get what your saying but neither of those guys are replacing Cizikas as they aren’t that type of player. Ishakov and albeit I’ve seen maybe a couple games when he was at UConn maybe has chance to be 3rd liner who plays on power play, lack of size and skating is going to hold him back. Koivula is going to be playing pro in Finland soon as he isn’t an NHLer IMO.

Agreed, but I hope ishakov can be an islander long term. They do need to keep zeeker around and i'm basically hoping we don't lose him at all as an RFA

I happen to disagree with this assessment. Prospects don’t make the show because they don’t have what it takes to make it.
I think I partially agree with you here. If you look up a little I admitted I was being somewhat facetious. That said, I think with at least some of our prospects, their development seems to stall at the AHL. More than anything I don't think Thompson is a BAD coach so much as I think the tigers have desperately needed a change of scenery. I also wish Chris Lam / Ownership would try and ice a more competitive roster for our young players to learn how to win from.

Im gonna pose a question on the 2021 draft: do you suppose we trade away the picks we have for an upgrade at the deadline/expansion draft, or keep all 7 and pick from a relatively mediocre class? If anything I hope the isles can at least try to look at a guy like Korczak, Dower-Nillson, or coronato. The isles can definitely use a boost at C/W in the pool, and I do wonder what the fanbase (well this portion) thinks of possibly doing that.

I think that hinges upon the player being acquired. If it's a young guy under team control , then yea, moving picks is worth it. If we are sacrificing a shot a decent prospect for a has-been rental, more likely than not it is regrettable.

Isles need another goalie prospect.

Isles need prospects at every position. They have a bottom five prospect base and literally no high end, grade A prospects anywhere in their system. Watching Bridgeport play is great for insomniacs. The lack of scoring is so glaring and scary when you recognize that there are no NHL ready players to call up in the event of an injury.

I like our D pool, but we really need more prospects with Top 6 upside

Wilde, koivula, holmstrom, MVS, and kuhnackl (not a prospect but BPT option) all can be available.
