Chances are slim but you never know. I think they’re worth investing in though snd seeing how they develop.
I can see adams being a good centerman, and cockerill could be a nice wingerman, but both are small at 5'9. The isles will be the verdict for what happens with both, but the org should see them as good young options as forwards

Adams is short, but he's stocky. 200+ lbs. he looked like a pretty good skater in that clip, and showed some sweet mitts too.

there are lots of late round picks playing prominent roles in the NHL. i hope LL gives them some time and effort.

Cockerill can fly, he is tremendous skater which makes him an excellent penalty killer. He is such a good penalty killer he killed them as a freshman on a good BU team. That’s his path to pro, I don’t think his offensive upside is high but he could be similar player to say Clutterbuck as his top upside I think. Adams I have been trying to watch this year a lot, he is skilled and also fast and he could be a late bloomer. He also works hard and good on the forecheck I would be surprised if Lou doesn’t sign both of them. Adams at very least should be a very good AHLer.

I have Cockerill on my radar because of his PKing, that's why he made Team USA a few times too.

FWIW, I always felt like this was some kind of prerequisite for Lamoriello's NJ Devils circa the cup years. They would always seem to roll out an army of short, strong foot soldiers who could win the boards with strength and lower center of gravity.

Everywhere has him listed at 5'9 172. Is this old? Did he gain over 20 pounds in the last year? Don't know much about him.

Oh, in case you didn't want a surprise, Ruslan Ishakov got 3 points today for TPS, and extended his point streak to 6 games (1 goal, 2 assists)

That sounds pretty promising, especially considering how weak our 2016 and 2017 drafts had been

YESSSSSSSSSSS

So, so happy he is putting it together. This kid has stupid good hands and hockey IQ. Downside is he is small, but in todays NHL that isn't a dealbreaker... he also needs to work on his physical agility / skating.

But this is very, very encouraging.

We have ourselves a blue chipper here :sarcasm: (oh god I shouldn't even joke... before anyone asks, NO I am not Bonzo)

I was pretty high on Ishakov when he got drafted. Watched him play for Russia for the under 18 tournament and came away very impressed. His skating has been questioned but from what I have seen his edge work is really good but top end speed is not. Hopefully he works out and can contribute in a year or two.

I think he should be going to the AHL after finland, and be ready for the island by 2024 or so. I have hopes in this kid being a fun center down the road

5 point night for him also, which is massive. Reminder he is a UFA as of August 15th if he and the Islanders do not agree on an ELC and could also go anywhere else if the isles don't offer him anything. Could be a very good player in bridgeport/the farm

Ok, corrected that for you.

Simply watching him play and looking at his pictures, I'd be SHOCKED if he was the 197 lbs. listed at UND's site.

That's gotta be a typo.

I've coached guys who were 5'8-10" and 180 lbs. and they were built like tanks. It was very noticeable off the ice, but also in the way their equipment looked on them.

Adams doesn't really have that.
