agreed. I wonder if Wahlstrom Wilde and Holmstrom will be as well?
I doubt it as they’re playing regularly in Bridgeport.

I could be wrong, but it would surprise me that it changes much that they play on a regular basis. Last year, Zadina played on a regular basis in the AHL (Grand Rapids) but the Wings still sent him to his national team (Czech Republic). I'm sure I could find other examples.I doubt it as they’re playing regularly in Bridgeport.

So Dobson wasn't included on the selection camp roster for Team Canada

Does that means he won't go to the WJCs now?
I think it just means he will not be at the camp, but he can (just like the other three - Hayton, Dach and Veleno - who play at the professional level) always be on loan at the end of the camp.So Dobson wasn't included on the selection camp roster for Team Canada

Guess it's worth posting here, Worcester fired their GM/Head Coach and replaced it with long time Worcester Sharks coach David Cunniff: Elite Prospects - David Cunniff Team Staff Profile.
Guy with heavy AHL experience should be good down there
Playing in the AHL has nothing to do with some of our prospects being sent to WJC's. I'd say Dobson and Wahlstrom are locks. Krygier Pivonka and Wilde on the bubble for USA. Don't know enough about Holmstrom's situation for Sweden but would love for him to go

It's got to do with whether or not the Islanders are willing to release them to play in the tournament. In previous years, they have not released any player getting games in a professional league.
Beauvillier is the only one in recent memory that wasn't released and kept in the NHL. Not sure how it will be under Lou, but the Isles have had a strong WJC presence for a while now.
I think the Wings will lend Veleno for the tournament. They did it last year with Zadina, I don't see why they wouldn't do it with Veleno. This practice extends back to Bailey. Granted that was a lifetime ago, but there is precedence.
Besides, who other than Beau in recent years had been at the pro level in the Isles organization and was considered a candidate for the WJC? I can't think of anyone else.
I just have a feeling that any pro player will be staying with their respective team through the tourney. The Isles seem to value pro experience way more than Jr. level experience for their players they feel can compete at the pro level. Otherwise, Dobson wouldn't be in the press box night after night after night.
As for the Islanders, I have absolutely no idea what Lamoriello's intentions are. What has been done in the past, was done under the direction of Snow. We'll see with Lamoriello.

I swear if he really winds up here, I want one of you graphics guys to make me a .GIF of him getting his passport stamped. Some kind of an Ellis Island parody.
I can attest to this, Nabakov was outstanding early in his career. I lived in San Francisco late 90s early 2000s, and saw him play his first 6 seasons or so. Sharks were always a fun team to watch, Thornton and Marleau were in there primes. They always seemed to be good, but could never get over that hump. Still the same even 20 years later.Looks like a very young and limber Nabokov (who was hands down fun to watch early in his career.)
Most kids drafted from the 2nd round and on are long shots to be NHL players, but before we write off Ishkakov and Salo lets see what they can do in the AHL. I expect that both will sign after their respective seasons are over in 2020 and next season we will have a far better idea whether or not they can contribute in the NHL.

In their history, if I'm not mistaken, the Islanders have already lent a player for this tournament, but we must go back far! In 1989, the Islanders had lent Dave Chyzowki, but it was under the direction of Bill Torrey at that time!
Jenkins took a knee on knee on Wednesday just waiting for his MRI. Did not look good at the time. Hope it isn't too serious.
