No, we can't judge the coaching staff yet. We have to give them an entirely different roster AND wait until they're all in their primes and AND wait until the entire roster plays 82 games without a single game missed to injury.

Then we can judge the coach.

How dare I judge this coach after 265 games? (@Captain Dave Poulin did you update the picture yet?) Clearly we need to wait some more, we're all so impatient.

So I really enjoyed Sanheim learning from one of the vets, our A, AMac. That starfish that did nothing but allow his player to walk in on net and snipe a goal, whoa- that's some great coaching by Hakstol. These types of tendencies aren't natural, real coaching.

What else? At one point, the PA system was playing "Don't Fear the Reaper" by Blue Oyster Cult. Hopefully that's a portent of the future.

There were actually moments of good Flyers pressure with no result to show, which is the norm. Like has been said, throwing Vorobyev under the bus is just criminal. Don't dress the guy unless you're willing to play him. At what point after the game became 4-1, was it too dangerous to play a shaky rookie?

So much hate watching. But because the talent is there, instead of just being resigned to a loss, each game starts with hope.

I'd buy this needs to work harder bull crap if our scheme in the offense zone was more than get it back to the point for a shot. The Flyers are having an avg. of 15 SA blocked per game this season.

What makes more sense, win a puck battle down low and set up a high danger play somewhere in the slot, or win a puck battle down low to pass it back to the blue line for a low % shot? All 3 fowards are either on the wall or below the goal line so even if a rebound is generated, no one is near it for a 2nd chance. Nope, lets keep going 200ft to pass it back 64 feet. Teams definitely havent picked up on that yet.

Well, we can start by dumping the veterans who don't go to the slot or are ineffectual in the slot.
You have to have someone to pass TO, or you're just turning it over.

The system is built to set up the point. Not the slot. Players go to the perimeter so they can be ready to cycle back to the D instead of going to the net.

Let's try an NHL system first and then see how the vets do.

He was just explaining why he didn't play the kid, I think it was one of those "I'll give you one last chance to show you belong" and Vorobyev showed nothing the 1st period. He needs to go back to LHV, he's clearly not ready for the NHL.
Same with AMac, he got one game to show he was healthy, and then Folin was back in. Probably to stay.
Absolute f***ing joke for a head coach to come out and say that about a kid. Keep that shit behind doors.

We've seen these veterans, Voracek is allergic to the slot, Simmonds is over the hill, TK has heart but lacks size, Giroux is a perimeter player, etc.
There's nothing to discover.
The idea that a new coach is going to make them different players is wishful thinking.
