What has happened to Anthony Richard, btw? While we're all so busy piling on Tolvanen, Richard's production seems to have fallen off a cliff as well?

See Post #68, paragraph 5.

He attracts the attention of several teams. The refs have been bad in the last 2 Admirals wins and they don't call anything that happens to him.

Richard has 3 points during the 11 game win streak. I have seen 2 guys on him at even strength. It makes it hard to pass or shoot. His shot percentage is about half of last year and so is his point production. He is on a pace for about 24 points.

The Admirals may be missing Olivier and his face punching ability, but Richie isn't afraid to hit somebody back immediately. If he breaks a finger like Crosby did, maybe people will give him more space. He uses his speed, but other teams are expecting it and they move the puck faster when he is on ice.

A Texas Two Step! OT win in San Antonio last night. An OT win in Texas tonight. Trenin with both goals. Donovan and Schneider did their best to give the game away in OT but Ingram came up with some big saves.

I don't mind Olivier because physical 4th line winger isn't a role that Turris or Trenin should be playing anyway. But giving Carr this second chance and continuing to staple Smith to the duo of Grimaldi-Bonino which is actually producing, those are areas that i'd like to see swapped out just to see what happens.

Admirals with 37 points and .804 winning percentage. They are 9 points ahead of the second place Iowa Wild, who has .636 winning percentage.

That is 13 wins in a row.

Keep Trenin and the guys in a winning environment. One Trenin or whoever from the AHL won't turn this ship around.

Milwaukee lost at the Texas Stars 5-1. The Ads had 40 SOG to just 20 for Texas.

I guess 13 wins in a row was unlucky. It had to end some time!

Milwaukee scored 5 goals in the first 29 minutes. The sixth goal was on the 20th shot and against tonight's back up goalie. Ingram allowed 1 goal in a sparkling game in net. Iowa is the second place team in the division, but Milwaukee left no doubt who is #1 by scoring 2 early goals and 4 more in period 2.

Seven goals matches the season high. The Ads only played 11 forwards tonight. Olivier was very fast on his skates tonight. Blackwell has 4 assists and tinordi had 3. Tolvanen had 2 G and 1 A.

There were 33 penalties called tonight by refs Beau Halkidis (#48) and Sean McFarlane (#61). They could have called 33 more.

Ref Ratings: Halkidis 8, McFarlane 7.

Linesmen Jonathon Sladek #53 gets a 3 and John Ray #16 gets a 4. They were very late with about 7 or 8 whistles in the game!

Don't know anything about Stastney but making the WJC team would be a good sign. Anyone watch college hockey and seen him play?

Are the D as active as they are here? I think that our D is going below the dots way too much here.

Only when cycling the puck or a Dman is attacking the goal on an entry.

The team frequently stays outside and above the dots. They need to get the puck inside the dots more often to generate quality scoring chances.

Going deep in the O zone is the forwards job imho. I feel our d is too active and this puts pressure on the goalies.

There is a happy medium and appropriate times. When Hously was here the Dmen seemed to understand that better and though the beginning of the season was bad it has leveled off somewhat since.

Wait, what? There's no offense or defense players, defense is everyone's responsibility just like offense is.
You might try to sell that as a coach, as a way of reminding your players, but in reality every player has individual strengths and weaknesses - in a relative sense - so in order to maximize your team's performance you may need to recognize that as well. And adjust responsibilities and strategies accordingly.

Even stay at home guys have responsibilities on offense and cherry picking wingers have to cover someone defensively

But it's all ultimately a trade-off. You don't want to say that out loud. But secretly you know it. If cherry-picking winger scores you 60 goals, he gets a little leeway. For example. It's the greater good.
