Hes on pace for 53 points hardly his fault. He is playing up to his contract this year...... which is why I think this was a bit steep. Hayes is producing slightly more then Little playing 4 minutes more a night to include PP1 time. Really not an upgrade on little at all. Just a bigger body

I'm never a big fan in giving up a 1st round pick, but I can't just say " 1st pick ... bad " when it might end up being a 25th overall to 31st overall.

And given who we might have to let go to make cap space for next season, we might be able to get a better 1st round pick back.

And I would have preferred Petan instead of Lemieux, but I don't think you can give Petan away for free.

Plenty of good prospects in the later part of the 1st round

Stone is more than a goal-scoring winger, he's a 200 foot player that also makes us better defensively. He'd be gold in the playoffs.

They didn't want to pay the price for Stone. Hayes might not have been the first choice but the deadline isn't over. A Benz is a consolation price to a Bentley for me, too.

Like it. Stone would have cost a really good prospect. Lemieux is kind of redundant. Nothing he does is very unique. Jets are very strong down the middle now.

I've got a lot of faith in Chevy's horse sense for stuff like this. If he didn't go after Stone, it's because the price was wrong. This is NHL caliber fresh blood, exactly what we need. And we may not be done yet.

Knowing there are this many that don't like this trade confirms my belief this is a great trade. I swear most of you don't know hockey or how to win a Stanley Cup. we replaced a 4th liner with a 2nd line center who happens to be a 6 foot 5 inch power forward.

I don't know a lot about Hayes, but I take into account what posters of the last team are saying, and so far, most if not all NYR fans feel he is an excellent add. I'll go with that.
