The only trade I can't judge him for was the Yakupov trade.
But the Hall trade should've gotten Edmonton: NJ 1st 2017, Zacha and Larsson. But that trade wouldn't of happened otherwise. (funny to think about since Edmonton had the 1st overall pick)

The last year, Benning has been a downright acceptable GM. Del Zotto, Vanek, Nilsson and Gagner have all been good signings, Burrows for Dahlin and Hansen for Goldobin were great trades and his draft was very good. Pettersson is setting records in SHL and Lind looking like a steal in the 2nd round.

Based off of the below analysis I would say his W/L/T record in 4/4/10 but I still do believe that lots of those lost trades need to be done to create a more complete team. There were to many deficiencies with the old Oilers.

The Hall-Larsson trade would be viewed as a better transaction if Larsson were to be given the powerplay time that his skillset deserves.
His offensive reads, pass selection, puck retention, and off-the-puck movement are very good. I am still dumbfounded that the Oilers persist in not giving him a proper chance to man a powerplay unit, but I guess they want to keep him fresh for even strength and penalty kill minutes.
With that said, Woodcroft runs a terrible powerplay.

It was another attempt to strengthen our defense after the failed Reinhart trade.
Every crappy move Chia made for defense was out of urgency because McDavid was drafted and our defense was a tire fire thanks to the previous 10 years of incompetency.

With that said, Hall is a fantastic player. I think his performances dropped for the Oilers because he was disenchanted with the performance of the franchise.
If the Oilers were to have traded Hall after his 85 point season or during this season, then the return would have been Larsson plus. The Devils benefited from the Oilers having the organizational need to trade Hall at a low as there is no way that a RHD of Larsson's calibre would have been available for Eberle or RNH at that point in time.

Chia said he looked for almost half a year for a young stud that could be pried away. He had to bite the bullet.

No. This thread is silly. Chiarelli is good at minor trades. It's the major ones that get him into trouble.
Good job. The only one I'd change is the Desharnais trade to a win because he helped them advance in the playoffs and Davidson had fallen to the #8 D.Based off of the below analysis I would say his W/L/T record in 4/4/10 but I still do believe that lots of those lost trades need to be done to create a more complete team. There were to many deficiencies with the old Oilers.
