Best of luck to the Bulldogs moving forward into 2017-18 from an Owen Sound fan stand point the 2 meetings between the Attack and Bulldogs has always been a good cross conference rivalry

Strome and Entwistle both played pretty well for Canada at the under 18's a few weeks ago. Canada ended up having a rough go but I thought Entwistle and Strome played pretty well.

The Ice Caps of the AHL used Nick Petti (and a handful of old AHL Bulldogs) in their playoff run before it was cut short a few days ago. Good to see Petti getting some playing time in a high quality league after the OHL.

Matt Luff played 2 games with the Reign and picked up an assist. The Reign also got eliminated this past weekend (though Luff did not play in the playoffs)

Look forward to seeing where the guys get drafted in a few weeks.

According to OHLInsiders

"Candidates for Hamilton Asst. GM Job include: Brian Teakle (WSR), Beau Moyer (KGN), & Matt Turek (HAM). Not sure Turek is 100% interested"

Is Staios doing a good job? Or is this assistant GM going to be his replacement?

Michael Cramarossa is using his OHL education package to attend McGill University this fall.

OHLInsiders nails it again.

Briefly looked at the schedule and noticed a few interesting things:
- Hamilton won't have a home and home series with Erie during the Christmas break as they had the past few years (going back to Belleville)
- The Family Day game will be against Owen Sound in Hamilton. It was with Kitchener the past 2 years
- The season will be finished with 3 games on the road (spread over a week) in Oshawa, Niagara, and Peterborough. The last two years it finished with back to back games in Ottawa and Kingston.

Number of games versus eastern conference teams (home/away):
Barrie: 4 (2/2)
Kingston: 6 (3/3)
Mississauga: 6 (3/3)
Niagara 6 (3/3)
North Bay: 4 (2/2)
Oshawa: 6 (3/3)
Ottawa: 5 (3/2)
Peterborough: 7 (3/4)
Sudbury: 4 (2/2)

They also have 7 stretches where they play 3 games in 3 days. Roughly 1/3 of the season. And there are other stretches of 3 games in 4 days.

No new arena or renos coming BTW--this story we forgot to mention during the OHL playoffs:

http://globalnews.ca/news/3345074/city-staff-say-dont-renovate-hamiltons-first-ontario-centre/

With the team in its final year(2017/18) of its lease at FirstOntario Centre, it'll be interesting to see what Andlauer does.. they're already blackballed from ever hosting the Memorial Cup because of the arena's condition..

Good bye Bulldogs esp now that Elmira New York is looking for a new team to replace their ECHL team

Elmira couldn't/wouldn't support an ECHL team so I don't see them jumping on an OHL team.

I think what he will do is....renegotiate a new lease with Global Spectrum (or the people who bought them out), likely get a better deal because he can't host a memorial which will be ok for the arena management because, frankly he brings a lot of dates to the arena, and things will move on.

Given the Bulldogs attendance improved by close to 300 last year without any adjustments to ticket prices, the fact that Andlauer has been a completely loyal owner to the Bulldogs (who we already dicussed cost less to run in their OHL form then their AHL form) and are currently 7th in the league in attendance after their 2nd year as an OHL team bodes well and certainly shows it is a long term investment that team knew it would be.

I'd be more worried about Missisauga moving, as they have an even larger market then Hamilton and have been consistently tanking in attendance for years. They just had a season where they made the finals and still their attendance declined over last year. Even as the Majors, they have yet to average over 3500 a season.
