Good player, but hard to argue that this was warranted.

If we don't recognize Carbo has one of the best in the pure Selke type, we won't ever recognize anyone else.

Great player, certainly belongs in the HOF. You knew every time he was on the ice that the other team would have an extremely hard time to score.

Hoping Danault is inspired.

The Patrice Bergeron of his era for those that didn't see him play. Three Stanley Cups and a boatload of Selke trophies.

Still remember the series where he frustrated Peter Stastny so much Stastny almost cracked him over the head with his hockey stick. He stopped himself.

The best shot blocker of his era and knew how to bleed when he took sticks to the face.
He had like this perpetual sore that he would reopen every time.

He's won the Selke three times. But he was Top-5 in votes another six times.

My favorite story of Carbonneau was when he told Demers in the '93 final to put him up against Gretzky. And Carbo did a masterful job shutting him down.

Carbonneau,: one of the last great Canadiens' player. The last Habs Captain to hold a Stanley Cup.... The last Captain on a Canadian based team to hold a Cup.

Bergeron is much better offensively.

Looking forward to the Habs / Weber hoisting the Habs 25th SCC & Montreal's 40th SCC. Did I mention loving the play of Carbo through all the lean years in 80's & 90's. The 86, 89 & 93 Stanley Cup Finals.

How's your dog, friend?

He's truly the happiest and most gentle dog I have ever owned, people always say how polite Hercules is and friendly, thanks for asking.:vhappy::vhappy::vhappy: We got him a Kitty about two years ago, they love each other, Kitty was a pet rescue and she is thriving with our family.

Carbonneau was more the Lehtinen, John Madden or Mike Peca of his era. In today's game? I'm not sure that such a player exists -- in part, I suspect, because gone are the days of offensive specialists being fundamentally poor defensively which, in turn, necessitated such defensive specialists. Some of that is attributable to teams becoming smarter at deploying their best players, giving them as much ice time as possible, rather than shielding them.

If you are 44yrs old, your memory must be slipping :) Guy doesn't even rank in the NHL's history books for blocked shots, he just appears to be better because we are cheering for the CH.

  • Most blocked shots, one season: Kris Russell (2014–15), 283
  • Most blocked shots, one playoff season: Anton Volchenkov (2007), 80
  • Most blocked shots, career: Dan Girardi, 1846
  • Most blocked shots, playoffs career: Chris Pronger, 374
  • Most blocked shots, one game: Kris Russell (March 5, 2015), 15
  • Most blocked shots, one playoff game: Richard Matvichuk (May 1, 2001), 13
A great player, I loved watching him in the playoffs.
Surprising stats. How did Carbo have? Seemed like he blocked many shots at critical times. Especially in playoffs
