Stone, Dzingle and Wideman are still available. Leaning towards keeping Stone at this point, but I won't pass up a good offer.

Finally, it's done.

After a blockbuster deal was put on hold because a player would not waive his NTC to come to Edmonton, we have a trade to announce.

:edmontonacquire:

Vladimir Tarasenko

:bluesacquire
Leon Draisaitl
Kailer Yamamoto

We paid a huge price to get one of the best pure scorers in the game. We know the loss of Leon Draisaitl, an elite centerman, will not be easy to overcome but we finally feel like we have the winger to compliment Connor McDavid. Kailer Yamamoto showed promise but the opportunity to acquire Tarasenko was too good to pass up.

Vladimir Tarasenko represents consistent elite scoring, a McDavid-Tarasenko duo instantly becomes the best tandom in the NHL.

Best of luck to Vlad, but we saw an opportunity to arguably improve, while finding a potential young 1C, AND getting an immensly talented prospect which we couldn't pass up.

Around until deadline if anyone wants Pietrangelo, Schenn, Perron, Schwartz, etc.

Alex Edler ($2.5M retained)

:nucks

Mario Ferraro
FLA 2nd/SJ 2nd in 2019(whichever is lower)
BUF 2nd in 2020

With Alex set to become an UFA and Vancouver not expected to make much a playoff push we felt it was time to give Alex an opportunity for a long playoff run on a contending team as well as recoup some assets for our re-build.

Will be around sporadically between now and the deadline.

Senators: Still shopping Mark Stone, Ryan Dzingle and Chris Wideman (Dzingle/Wideman may be gone sooner than later though)

Devils: May look to add a depth defenceman, but likely going to stand pat.

Will takc on significant picks/prospects to Lucic and Russel if you want to get good assets on the cheap.

Sharks now have the best defense in the league to go along with their already solid forward corps. Looking for a good two way winger!

The New York Islanders have traded defenseman Nick Leddy and forward Jordan Eberle to the Tampa Bay Lightning for defenseman Mikhail Sergachev and forward Ryan Callahan. New York will retain 50% of Eberle salary as part of the trade.

In a second trade, the New York Islanders have traded defenseman Mikhail Sergachev and forward Anthony Beauvillier to the Montreal Canadiens for defenseman Victor Mete, along with forwards Nick Suzuki and André Burakovsky.

:bolts confirm.

Sucks to lose Sergachev, but this trade gives us three great LHD for the next half decade (two signed well beyond that). Eberle also gives us even more forward depth and we feel that we now have 10 legitimate top 6 threats on this team. This team is built to be elite now and for the next several years, and should absolutely be a strong favorite for the Cup.

Did you just trade with yourself?

Did you just trade with yourself?

In part, yes.

But with commishs approval of course!

Montreal was interested in Sergachev since the beginning of the game but didn’t have the assets needed by the Bolts. On the other side, the Isles were looking for a young forward with high upsides for Leddy but couldn’t reach a deal until now. At the end of the day, we had to be creative but I can confirm that both Habs and Isles GMs are happy.

Slightly more than 10 minutes until the trade deadline. Any trade not sent in before the deadline will be too late. Once that’s done, we will start voting.
