Checking in from Las Vegas.

We had 78 new cases today with under 5% positivity.

Three months ago, we we averaging 2500 cases a day with 20% positivity. We only have a population of about 2.5 million.

I’m pretty sure at this point between asymptomatic infections, vaccinations, and people recovered, we’re nearing herd immunity here.

Not surprised

Covid Malaise is real.

We will still have one more spike here

The issue with Germany and most of the EU is vaccine supply. They were bogged down in government red tape, as far as which shot they were going to go with and so on and so forth, while everyone else, like Britain, chose Astra Zeneca and moved forward. The EU chose a mix of the Chinese developed vaccine, Russian Vaccine and I think Johnson and Johnson. The EU may have a spike, but I think based upon our infection plus currently vaccinated numbers we are getting close to herd immunity.

Orange County Could Move to Orange Tier Next Week, Officials Say

If current COVID-19 trends continue, Orange County could graduate from the red to the orange tier under the state's blueprint for reopening the economy by the end of the month, officials said Wednesday.

Moving up to the orange tier would allow for more business to reopen. Retail stores would not have to limit attendance, and churches, movie theaters, museums, zoos and aquariums could expand attendance to 50% of capacity. Restaurants could expand indoor dining to 50%, wineries could offer indoor service at 25%, and bars that don't serve food could reopen outdoors for the first time.
Gyms and fitness centers could expand to 25% of capacity, and family entertainment centers could offer indoor attractions such as bowling.

Things have been pretty even up in NorCal. I wouldn't say we are at herd immunity yet, still need to get a lot of people vaccinated but heading in the right direction. I have some concerns about the idiots celebrating their freedom in Florida and Hawaii right now over Spring Break and what they'll be bringing back to their communities in different states but I try not to focus on it and just keep moving forward. Just waiting to get my wife vaccinated next.

L.A. County is on the cusp of orange tier reopening, but public health officials say it's too early to declare victory over COVID

L.A. County is on the cusp of orange tier reopening, but public health officials say it's too early to declare victory over COVID

Los Angeles County continued to edge closer this week to the orange tier for new COVID-19 infections, reporting a daily average of 576 cases over the past seven days, a 62 percent decrease from just two weeks ago.
If the county — which is California’s largest, with 10 million residents — can continue on its current path, more social distancing restrictions would be lifted or eased on a range of businesses, including restaurants, movie theaters, museums and shopping centers.
Currently in the red tier, L.A. County could achieve the orange milestone as early as the first week of April if it can keep its case rate at a level below 3.9 per 100,000 residents for two straight weeks. This week, its average daily COVID-19 infections fell to 3.7 per 100,000.
That decrease has been made possible in part by the arrival of vaccines. To date, L.A. County has administered 3.7 million doses of the inoculation that has been proven highly effective in preventing COVID-19. Roughly 15.6 percent of the county’s population has been fully vaccinated.

My mom and father-in-law both felt sick (headache & slight fever) the day after their 2nd shot (Moderna) but fine afterwards. Mother-in-law no such issues.
Why can't the side-effects ever be like an extra inch or two growth in a particular special place?!? Or maybe hair growing on your bald spots/head.
