You keep dancing around it, but there's a reason coaches exist and make millions of dollars a year. This is their job to fix.
honestly it seems like a poor scouting job tonight. We can't seem to handle their east-west movement.

What's the latest on Husso? "Week to week" was four weeks ago wasn't it? Not that it matters a whole lot but still curious.
This is the last news I saw

Husso (lower body) returned to the ice on Monday but is still considered week-to-week.

Husso remains week-to-week but returned to the ice in a limited capacity for the Red Wings on Monday. The 29-year-old Husso had struggled when called upon this season with a 9-5-2 record, 3.55 GAA and .892 SV%. Alex Lyon will continue to see the majority of Red Wing starts in his absence as veteran James Reimer backs him up.

It’s never a good look when you pass on a guy for some meh 2nd/3rd like talents and then he lights you up for 3pts in one of the most important games of the year.

Barring some kind of miracle, it’s an absolute failure of a year for Yzerman
Danielson and ASP are still very good prospects. If Danielson was in the NHL he would have a lot more than Benson's 20 some points.

Leaving Danielson in the WHL, though? Huge mistake leaving a NHL-level natural center in juniors when it's our main weakness.

but for real. this team has been incredibly streaky the entire season this level of play shouldn’t shock us at this point. Well go hang busters here for about a 10 game stretch

Really wish this team could bring a physical element (or do anything else other than meekly play out the clock in a game like this).

Only 56 in 46 in the WHL as a 19yo absolutely in no way means he would be getting “a lot” more than 20pts in the NHL.

Not even close. I doubt Danielson even makes the team next year

We traded the only (although bad) player who really plays physical.

Because what we needed was absolutely a 7th round pick instead while battling for a playoff spot with your #1C injured

Danielson's pace since getting out of Brandon at the beginning of January is 90 points/68 game WHL season. He would have been better off in Europe than Brandon. That place is a hole for talent.

Kostin was moved to get rid of his contract for next year. And he was too slow to be a regular physical presence.

Of all the problems with this dumpster-fire team, moving Kostin wasn't one of them.

Benson had 98 in 60 in the WHL last year though?

not sure how a hypothetical 90 in 68 a year later equates to "a lot more points in the NHL"

And 90pts in 68 games is also not very impressive for a 19yo top 10 pick either.

Look at what Dvorsky is doing at 18 for example of someone excelling
