Honestly, it hasn't even been difficult for Helle. How few good chances has Toronto even had? You can say Campbell or Rittich could have made a save, but Helle hasn't even been put in position to make a difficult save.

I just want to say, this is just a game in the regular season, past the 2/3 point, and we have a playoff spot already secured. We are missing two of our best four players. Including the top goal scorer in the league. And our starting goalie has been out for some time, and we are on our second backup.

Please just everyone calm the F down.
Yessir! Great perspective.

Leafs have pretty much owned 90% of this game .

That remaining 10% was just very very very bad.

Man our PP is soooooo terrible. We just pass it around the perimeter, and when we do go down low, it's just in-the-crease stuff like that Hyman attempt, not a real scoring threat. We're getting zero cross-ice one-timers, zero one-timers from the slot, etc. It's just not dangerous at all, really need a new PP coach. We've got the talent to be great on the PP but are terrible, coaching issue IMO.

Well if the PP coach isn't getting it done, shouldn't the head coach step in?
Or how about the "talent" trying something on their own?

The team is extremely flawed and vulnerable as a result. The bottom 6 has no scoring depth. The top pairing is shaky defensively. They don't have anything that resembles a PP and they have series questions surrounding their starting goaltender.

This is a good team, but nowhere near the top 3 team in the NHL that there record indicates.

We are missing the best goal scorer in the league, and another high end winger, and we still look really good in this game. Arguably better than the Jets more often than not.

Other than Benn and Beaulieu, this is the Jets. Arguably our most intimidating competition. We were sloppy in the 1st period and on that 4th goal. We'd been all over them otherwise.

This is without a functioning PP as well. Once our PP gets back to where it will be, we are going to be tough to stop.

The Jets certainly don't play the Leafs evenly. They do bank on getting better goaltending though

I thought for sure Freddie would be traded in the preseason. And Cuba's go for another starter.

Meh. It is what it is. Our goalies have been inconsistent but let's not undermine that long win streak this team had. With Matthews, Nylander, Foligno and hopefully Nash, this team looks drastically different.

Because this game means nothing

I think it means a lot. If the team is showing a next man up, rally with Matthews and Nylander out, let’s claw back after Campbell was pulled and beat these guys. I would accept a loss more easily. Shows they’re really getting in the mindset of a championship run. But when they still look like a team that thinks it can flip a switch? I’m not so encouraged by that.

Jets are where they are because of goaltending though.

If Leafs had Hellebuyck... the division would be over already.

Might be a good time to actually give Robertson a chance

Just maybe, don’t wanna cut Thornton’s or Simmonds minutes obviously
