Players around the league knows the canucks run in the playoffs was a complete charade, no one wants to go to that disaster of a franchise. Watching their fans seethe is a joy.

Lmao here comes the guy who lurked NJ's board just to bash Hall throughout his stay there. Nobody should be taking this guys opinion seriously anyone liking his posts show their lack of good judgement.

Has no coherent opinion of his own... slags other people's opinions. Good job. Great contribution.

Taylor Hall signed a 1 year contract right across the bridge from where he lives, with the best potential linemate he's ever had, to play for a coach he had in his first 3 NHL seasons.

Relax with the "he's all about the money" talk. He's not doing anything that Tyson Barrie isn't doing.
Tyson Barrie didn't say he'd forgo money to go to a contender lol. Talk about literally comparing an apple to an orange.

NHL radio was going on about how this is going to catch up with them. Every year they sign a guy and want to move on the next year is likely going to hurt their reputation as well, they figure.

it kinda ruins the NHL. Everyone wants to go to TB, LA , or Vegas now. U win the cup there and no one will remember ya. You win a cup in Canada and you never have to buy a drink again in a bar and can walk on water in that city

Just tuned in to see Hall signed in Buffalo. I guess this means another year of hearing suggestions for bringing Hall back to the Oilers in 2021-22.

I always thought this was the smartest move for Hall. He had a down year partly because of a career worst 7% shooting percentage and with a flat cap there's just not the money to get a good long term deal. Add to that Seattle coming in next year and having the ability to throw a big contract at him it potentially either drives his value up or leaves him the option of signing in Seattle and banking on the Kraken having the same sort of early success as Vegas and giving him shot at a Cup as one of the top dogs on that team.

There's enough firepower in that lineup that he should put up good numbers and if the team doesn't have success nobody is going to pin it on Hall given Buffalo's perpetual mediocre results. If Buffalo does turn it around he'll likely get kudos for being a catalyst. It's a win win situation as long as he can stay healthy.

Buffalo was a little worse than average in terms of goals for and PP% which are both things Hall can help with and I'm sure Eichel is thrilled he'll have some offensive support in Hall who can drive play. With internal improvement from the young defense, giving Ullmark more starts, and another year acclimating to Kreuger's system I'd expect the Sabres do take a step forward next year finally. That PK really needs to improve though. It's difficult enough being successful if your PK is under 80%, let alone 75%.

I dont know how people can fault Hall for going after the money.

Fans like to say that their are more important things than money. Truth is this is their job. No one would fault a co-worker for leaving their work to go make more money elsewhere.

"VAN has reached out to Hamonic, Vatanen, Gustafsson"

LOL. Literally Benning is interested in EVERYONE, EVERY YEAR.

He's panicking now because he f***ed up and missed re-signing the guys that wanted to stay. Even if he gets any of those 3 their D is heavily downgraded.

This would be cap circumvention though if say Edmonton "trades" Chiasson to Detroit, Detroit trades him back on the first day of the season after Klefbom's LTIR is activated.

Kariya didn't do it.

I guess Kariya is a better man than Hall.

It's funny that Free McDavid (Canucks fan) was ragging the Oilers on the main board for OEL not wanting to go to Edmonton and whooping it up about how attractive Vancouver is to FAs ... and then Barrie turns down Vancouver for Edmonton and the OEL deal falls apart, lol.

Sweet, sweet Karma. Tunnel-vision on OEL, think the deadline on him is a bluff and boom, miss out on re-signing Markstrom (though to be fair Tree-living overpaid to get him), Tanev, Stecher, and probably Toffoli.
