I think you are right. I think they count more contracts when calculating the 10% overage in the off season. With respect to what they would be playing at I think it is only a couple of millionI thought they were only a couple million over now.
If a 3rd two years from now can get you that, imagine what a 1st next year could get you, even if it is the 31st pick...lol market just isn’t what people think it is with cap dumps. Think we can eliminate that narrative from next year please
Same would go for Yzerman in Tampa.
he isn’t a pure cap dump, he’s a useful player. Same thing as Murray to us, only a bit older but better and less injury concern.
Fitz has stated on multiple occasions he wants players in Nico - Jacks age bracketAh the good old scary age 30 barrier. I love that hot take.
btw I’m not saying they should or shouldn’t get him but only that mentioning his age is just so stupid.
If you are forced to trade a player to clear salary and take a less then face value return then it is a cap dump. Cap dumps aren’t just crappy players on ltir or retired.

NTC or not, I'm glad Fitz didn't jump on that one. Don't really want the back end of that deal.
I Would imagine we were on his no trade list, but I guess we'll never know
I don’t know if you knew how this season turned out, buuuutttttt

I don't even know what point you are trying to make anymore.there will always be other teams willing to take less and drive down your asking price it’s the same way there are always team willing to up your offer and drive up the price
See ya palm and whoever else is 28-29 lol.Fitz has stated on multiple occasions he wants players in Nico - Jacks age bracket
Went back some pages and didn't see this, if I did miss it mods feel free to remove
I would imagine there were teams that would have given up more than that who were on Schmidt's no trade list (was it a list of teams he wouldn't accept a trade to or teams he would?).
Obviously there was not much demand for himNot only is it a 3rd, but it's a 3rd in 2022
