I hate the trade because of how much i love Cogs but between this and how well Shore has been playing so far Bob definitely sold at the right time.

Getting out of that Cogs contract was tremendous, what shore is doing is icing on the cake

3.25 still seems like a lot for a forward who's basically a defensive specialist. He's still a useful energy player for the bottom 6, but the contract is equivalent to Stoner for what he brings now - so maybe a million overpaid. That's a good amount for a team up against the cap.

I'm not sure if Guhle will ever be as good as Fowler especially not by then.

I took a rash of poop on this board for saying the Cogliano trade was a great deal for the ducks. His decline was obvious and the contract was a problem. Keep in mind that without that trade, the Ducks very likely can't afford to extend Silfverberg last season and probably trade him at the deadline- not knowing that Kesler would be on IR and with Perry still on the books, the ducks would have been capped out and not had a roster spot for the young kids (where there is still a logjam). Also, where would Cogs play in our current lineup?

Love the player, but that was a great trade even if Shore was traded for a bag of pucks. The fact that Shore has been better than expected is the cherry on top.

The fine is supposed to be a deterrent and hurt everyone equally. That's why it's based on your income. If you're rich the possibility of a 200 euro fine is not going to stop you from speeding if you decide to test out your expensive sports car. Just like there would be a lot more people speeding if the fine was just 2 euros. And Teemu is lucky he didn't kill anyone when he crashed into another car at over 90 mph while practicing for a rally race.

Sweet Is the book coming out in English? I believe he has a book come out shortly after retiring but IIRC it was in Finnish, is this something completely new?

If it is in English I’ll add it to the book Grimson just bought out to my reading list. Love a good hockey autobiography haha.

Yes, he said he wasn't sure he would ever do a book in English but apparently he decided to. It's supposed to be available Oct 29. The video is worth a watch if you have 12 minutes.

FWIW, I cherry pick their vids and audio segments posted on the website. They can be interesting and entertaining. No commercials and usually some interesting and/or funny stuff. Love hearing them rip the Leafs.
