Former 2nd round pick Julius Nättinen, currently the leading scorer for JYP in Liiga, took a nasty looking high hit from former NHLer Jussi Jokinen, video here. Borderline late hit too, fortunately Nättinen looked OK and was able to return to the game later.

Megna, Beleskey, Roy, and Dotchin all cleared waivers this morning

Good luck to them. I bet Roy makes it to the NHL sometime during this season -- despite last season, IMO he's got the talent to play in the big league.

Woah finally he is putting up some points, hope he keeps progressing.

If not he can be like Dan Sexton & be a top 10 forward in the KHL.

Through 2+ games, Cogliano is averaging the lowest TOI at even strength among Stars forwards. I love the guy, but we got out of that contract at the right time.

EDIT: Could somebody delete the "Offseason" from this thread title?

I hate the trade because of how much i love Cogs but between this and how well Shore has been playing so far Bob definitely sold at the right time.

He's 32, he played thru alot to keep his iron man streak going for as long as he did. Decline happens to us all.
Even if Dallas buys him out after the season, i see him sticking around in the NHL on 1 year deals to be a PK forward that plays on a teams 4th line like Matt Cullen had done for a decade.

His hands have been gone for about 3 seasons now, though. And he just never looked the same after the suspension.

He never had hands. Agreed about the second point but if he stays a 20 point elite PKer he’s still worth the contract.

3.25 still seems like a lot for a forward who's basically a defensive specialist. He's still a useful energy player for the bottom 6, but the contract is equivalent to Stoner for what he brings now - so maybe a million overpaid. That's a good amount for a team up against the cap.

Now wigh Guhle also injured and the Gulls starting slow, would be interesting to pick Welinski. He`s familiar with Eakins

invisible would be my guess
I think there is a possible chance its 50/50 that this is Perry's last season :( If he absolutely stinks it up in Dallas, what team wants a non-scoring extremely slow RW that doesn't even troll/pest anymore.
Cheecho/Heatley types seem to fade out really fast when they reach that point :(

Man I loved me some Bells. Dude was the poster boy for doing whatever it took to make it in the NHL. When he was first breaking in, he would hit and fight almost anyone just to secure a spot on the NHL roster. He always had the great shot, so once he got the chance to play with some talented players he capitalized. Then he left via free agency because the Ducks wouldn't pay him the price tag and rightfully so. As much as I think everyone loved him, he was never going to live up to the contract that he received. He's a great example of maximizing his talents and doing whatever he could for the team.

I feel quite bad for Dallas: Pavelski, Perry & Cogliano on their roster, they picked up other teams past their prime players to go along with theirs (Benn).
