The breakout isn't happening much which would help the transition game.

Alzner is the only vet defender playing. Oleksy can't be considered a vet yet especially since his first season was the lockout one. Orlov, Strachen, Carrick and Cajkovski can't be expected to be NHL players yet.

Basically the opening night lineup played a very AHL filled Nashville and still got outshot with Ovechkin having 7 shots.

I wouldn't put this on defenseman, its overall system, they got outshot night after night last year during the 15-2-2 run.

How's it crying, every Stanley Cup winning team has had been extremely positive corsi play during the regular season and the playoffs.

Kings were a really great possession team all the regular season before they won and had a poor shooting percentage.
