At least Wilson will have his ice time.
<<Instead Oates will do:
Uh, er, did I miss some news? Or some irony? Or have we already dubbed another of our D guys "Schultz"? Just trying to get caught up here.
A quick perusal of the Kings' board a couple of days ago indicated he was not making much of an impression. One poster had him pegged as the #8 D, while another thought he should be waived.
How is Schultz? In Manchester yet?
Well at least one Kings fan has an inflated opinion of him already.
It should be funny watching that top line with Rechlicz, it'll force Backstrom and Johansson to actually shoot more.
Oates didn't disappoint, the lines are so stupidly pointless.
I just don't get it, Perreault and Fehr are in their correct positions, but Chimera should be either 4 LW or if Laich is still injured 3 LW, so he should play with Perry and Fehr, but not Byers who played with Grabovski is with them and Chimera is playing with Grabovski along with Wilson.
It's preseason. He's playing guys in various positions to see what they can do given different line mates, ice time, etc. That's what you do in preseason.
Did Oates kick your dog or something?
Yeah man you read way too much into preseason lines and pairings. At this point I bet the only line Oates is sure of is the first one. The rest could end up any sorts of ways and getting a look at guys in different slots makes plenty of sense.
No whats going to ****ing happen, is the Caps are going to start slow because the 2nd line has never played with each other longer than 10 minutes before.
Apparently it takes 30 games to adjust to Oates' system anyway, so Grabovski and Erat are doomed for the first half of the season regardless.
There is no exaggeration in this post at all. or the reply
There is a significant chance that Grabovski's head will fall off of his shoulders.
More significant than the chance that Brooks Laich's groin is totally healed.

#Caps projected lineup for tonight: Johansson-Backstrom-Ovechkin; Chimera-Grabovski-Wilson; Byers-Perreault-Fehr; Volpatti-Latta-Rechlicz.

#Caps lineup cont’d: Alzner-Carrick; Orlov-Oleksy; Cajkovsky-Strachan. Neuvirth in goal.
Orlov getting looks with Oleksy is good I guess. And that 4th line... expect some fights tonight?
Edit: ah nevermind the OP edited this to the post already.
Fights are pretty much guaranteed in pre-season games. And the Caps certainly haven't been shy about fighting this year.
But yeah, it's the Flyers and we're icing several guys who are literally fighting for jobs. Good chance that Byers, Wilson, Oleksy, Cajkovsky, or any member of the 4th line drops the mitts.
Other than Voracek not playing, this is expected to be the Flyers opening night lineup, so I doubt it.
We look stacked. I think George learned his lesson long ago, it just took a while to see it coming to fruition. I wonder if a clear pattern emerged of getting tougher players, after that fateful night in Chicago.
Maybe Holmgren comes downstairs to even things up.
Yeah screw coaches actually evaluating who's games seem to work together and who's don't. Just throw the guys the message board geniuses say should play together and let them build chemistry right...?
Uproar over preseason line combos? Dude relax...
You realize Wednesday was the 14th anniversary of McPhee punching Molleken right...?
Coburn might not being playing today.
holy smokes seems like just yesterday.
IMSMC we are starting our 40th season.
39th. 14-15 will be 40th IINM.
Next year, when we host the Winter Classic, is our 40th season. Don't think that's a coincidence.
