.......and yet, they’re not.

Again.....all I was saying was that the poster was wrong claiming that Drai was the only logical choice. He went on to say that no one was within 10 points of him in the scoring race. Those were incorrect facts.

I’m pretty sure that if Mony got in over Drai we’d be having the same conversation it reversed.

I also believe that if Gio made it in over Drai you guys would be cool with it because he clearly should be there, no?

Ya if Gio made it, that would be fine. He deserves to be there. Just like Drai does. The problem is, there are 4 dmen in the Pacific that deserve to be there, and the NHL for some reason decided Pavelski should go. Drai should have been in in the first place, and then Gio voted in as the last guy.

From what Sharks fans have told me.. Pavelski skates in peanut butter. Not sure why someone so slow would ge a good choice for the ASG.

Can someone tell me how Keller got an all-star spot? Especially when players like lindholm, Monahan, and even Toews have done better.

I’m a Flames fan and Giordano absolutely deserves to be there but that doesn’t mean Draisitl doesn’t. Gio should be there ahead of Karlsson and Doughty this season and Drai and even Monahan should be in over guys like Pavelski and Keller

The selection process is flawed. You don’t need to use this as a reason to **** on Edmonton, there are plenty of others

Agreed here. The issue isn't so much that Draisaitl is in over Giordano, because Draisaitl is deserving of being there (as is Monahan for that matter). The issue is that Pavelski (58th in league scoring) is there when there were already two Sharks on the team. If they had Kopitar in for Pavelski, then Giordano likely is on the team in Doughty's spot. Or conversely, Monahan in for Pavelski.

I understand them wanting at least 2 home team players, but there shouldn't be 3 unless it was an obvious pick (i.e. if this game was played in Calgary, I could understand Monahan (tied for 10th), Gaudreau (tied for 3rd) and Giordano (3rd in defensive scoring) making it).

Keller..... Unfortunately, they had to take someone from Arizona.

Letang getting in is cool. Malkin has been lacklustre for over a month, but Letang has been stellar since the season started. Plus, he's the guy you want in a skating competition.

Anyone think that between Drai and Gio it wasn't Oilers or Flames fans that decided it? People voted across the board for the four different all-star teams.

I think most Oiler fans are also saying Gio should be there too, guy is a Norris front runner. Rielly should be there too.

I blame the socialism aspect of the way the All Star teams are made up.

This. Neutral parties likely have seen a lot of 3 on 3 highlights with Draisaitl and McDavid. You'd think that was likely good for some votes. Hometown votes probably cancelled each other out.

You may want to look at the guy that actually centers his own line down in Calgary.

Pretty sure he’s within 10 points

Edmonton continues to be a tire fire and they are sending two players. One that can’t even Center his own line, over a guy that is the front runner for the Norris.

Yes, each teams deserves representation, for the Oilers it should only be McDavid. Period.

No way in hell Drai “deserves” to be there over Gio.

But these positions are voted in right? I guess when there little else to hope for, getting a guy to the ASG must feel like a big deal?
You sound really upset about this.

Draisaitl deserves to be there, get over it.

What in the actual **** are you talking about?

I made a comment that there were other options in the pacific......I argued against the fact that Drai was the only choice.

And for the record.....drai is tied in points with Mony.

Not sure where you’re getting the whole “cry baby” thing from? This is a discussion board. We were discussing the validity of Drai being the only choice.

But hey.....you be you.
Just because “mony” didn’t make it doesn’t mean Drai didn’t deserve to. It would be a toss up between the two. I do however think Gio should have been on the team in the first place.

Classic “I guess the ASG is a big deal to you guys” as you continue to type lengthy posts crying about it.

I’m surprised more fans aren’t talking about the best 3 v 3 duo in the NHL being on full display at all star weekend.

If you haven’t seen McDavid and Drai in 3 v 3, it’ll be fun to watch.

As a Flames fan, I'm glad that leech Draisaitl is going instead of Giordano.

First, Gio is 35 years old and it is a long, grueling season. The more rest he gets, the better.
Second of all, I'm happy for Drai. Playing for Edmonton, this is the most meaningful game he'll play for the foreseeable future.
You sure don’t sound happy though.

Draisaitl over others in the Pacific is a head scratcher.

Even if they were looking for the best sidekick.....there are better choices.

But hey.....McDavid will be feeding him just like in a real game!

When I looked at forwards 10 days ago.
Thier were 8 forwards who were top 31 (#1) fwd in all 6 offensive categories.
Goals, EVG, PPG
Points, EVP, PPP
From start of 16-17 season to 10 days ago in this season.
Tavares
Ovechkin
Crosby
Malkin
Draisaitl
Kucherov
Marchand
Pastarnak
People on this site want to trade one of the 8 most complete off fwds.

A young man who
-carried Germany to the Olympics
- An off leader for team Europe @ World Cup
- memorial cup MVP
- WHL playoff MVP
- leading W Conf playoff scorer first 2 rounds centering his own line.

Yup, this guy needs Mcdavid to drive offence.

Put your heads in a corner and bow them in shame.

The funny thing about this is that Gaudreau/Monahan are better than McDavid/Draisaitl 3v3 by basically every metric and counting stat possible

Panarin had 2 powerplay goals through 42 games.

Then gets offered unlimited free vodka.

Then posts 2 powerplay goals the very next game. Correlation?
