I play in a 16 man points league and I like it way better than head to head. We also have 20 total moves limit so it puts a lot more emphasis on the draft and trades (which don’t count in the 20)

That sounds really cool. It’s just not as fun as it could be when everyone is so attached to their own guys that nobody wants to trade.

Yeah the free agency pool is full of average guys at best with 16 teams so if you want to improve you pretty much have to trade.

My teams pretty solid but I traded Pettersson Werenski for Backstrom Seth Jones couple days ago. I like it so far. Pettersson was shooting 45%

I’ve got a 40 point lead with 2 starting goalies tonight but he has 2-3 more forwards and I still don’t feel like I have a safe lead.
he has 2 more guys going tonight than I do, so he should be able to get by a 23 point lead...anything under 50 points is not a safe lead with how scoring goes here which I like by the way..

All about them PP points. I’ll trade you your boy Gardiner.
Gardiner is a good player, but I like my defense..Chabot and Jones have been beasts...plus Niskanen had a good week...what I do like about our league is there are usually solid adds out there every week for free agency and not a barren wasteland that I have played before...

I'd have traded if you hadn't offered me trash for Rantanen and Drouin. Lol. Matt Murray? Really?

That trade was about as fair as an armless man in a boxing match.

And I lost by a meager 4.5 points

It’s a negotiation my friend. That wasn’t the offer anyway, it was a starting offer of the Pittsburgh tandem and Parise for Rantanen and Drouin, which you declined and I told you on the DM my final offer was to take Drouin out of the deal, which you also declined.

All of Pittsburgh’s goalie starts and Parise for 1 player is a good offer.

I'm just giving you a hard time... mostly. ;)

Matt Murray and his backup(both of which have been... not good, if I'm being nice) and Parise for Rantanen and Drouin isn't fair, or a good offer. Even those starts plus Parise for just Rantanen isn't a fair trade. It's the league's current leading scorer... for one of the worst goalies in the NHL this year, basically, and a guy that is over-producing. Price has been trash and even he he has more points than Murray does.

You may think that's a good offer, but it's really not...

It's basically Rantanen and Drouin for Murray and Parise. The backup is meaningless in the trade, as he's not playing all that much, and just eats up a roster spot. Parise is not going to sustain his current PPG pace, and he can't ever stay healthy for a full season.

Well, I tried just offering 3 for 1 final offers in baseball and that didn’t work. Thought adding Drouin and then taking him out might help the negotiation.

I mean, what is fair value to you for Rantanen?

As it stands right now? Probably a top 15 goalie +. Again, he's the leading scorer in the league right now. This isn't a "buy-low" candidate like Benn would be right now. He also plays on the PP, where he earns "bonus points" basically. And it's not really fluky. He had 84 points last year, and over a PPG. I mean, would you trade Kane for Matt Murray and Parise? Would you trade Kane + for Matt Murray and Parise?

The Pens aren't even making the playoffs if the season ended now, and it's a direct result of their garbage goaltending.
