One of the Spurs straight ruby tackled a United player on a break near the start of the second as well, but because the ball was on the other side of the pitch the ref played advantage and then totally forgot about it.

I despite when refs let an obvious tactical foul go unpunished because it happened away from play or because a slight advantage still happened for the fouled team.

Yea, arm is in a pretty natural position given what he's doing and it's close to the body either way. Plus on the replay it looks like it deflected a but off RLCs head which would be a further mitigating factor.
