So you guys fear of getting to the playoffs, and at same time you know the team will be so poor, so it will never be near of the playoffs.

Different people though.... Winger is complaining that Stevie didn't do enough, a few others are concerned he did too much, lol.

I think he made the right amount of changes, enough so that the team isn't a compete dumpster fire, just a smoldering trash can.

I'm not as certain that Stevie will do a fire sale at the deadline if the team is close to being in the playoffs. It's one thing for Holland to decide to start a rebuild, it's another to sell assets when the team is moving up from the bottom and within striking distance of playoffs. That could have disastrous consequence as far as signing UFAs next offseason. It's not that big of a deal to not sell assets I suppose.

Hopefully the team is far enough away from a playoff spot that selling makes sense....

I think Steve sells every player he can regardless of how close we are to a playoff spot to stockpile assets. Surely he recognizes that a 1st rd. appearance would be extremely lucky & we'd get bounced in 5 probably.

Edit: doesn't include selling Bert, Larkin, Mantha, Hronek, Fabbri or any prospects etc.

I really appreciate that Brock focuses on a single league and only tries to rank players in relation to those in the same league. The Draftineu guys were similar. I think too many of the public scouts try to cover too much and in the process end up with a lot of canned player descriptions.

In my experience the overwhelming majority of public scouting services and prospect followers tend to overrate a prospect's skating ability. I like to think of it as prospect grade inflation in a way. Clarke is a perfect example of this in my opinion. He isn't an ankle bender (in the rhetorical sense) but is four-way skating is not nearly as strong as many try to make it out to be.

For the record I really do like Clarke as a player and prospect and am excited to see what he made out of the summer.

And our probability to draft at Top6 is almost 100%.

6'5' D at first overall I like the sound of that. It's almost looking like no matter where we draft there is a D that projects to move the dial.

I wonder if the season gets canceled when the draft will happen.

Depends on who's picking #1. #1C and #1D have about the same value, but forwards are always the sexier pick. I think team need factors in.

Not even sure who the WIngs would pick if they got #1OA. I'd be happy with either.
