This one was struck just before the deadline. I had Maltais go 4th round for 2020. Pretty smart move to go the longer route and get an education along the way.

Maltais 4th round? REALLY

why writing this ?

Is there any jealousy?

I saw two games of him at the Dodge Cup, there are really 54 players better than him for the draft?

A lack of seriousness

Instead we should be happy for the kid

" I had him 4th round" ..... Draft is 13 months away, kid is 14... what a dumb comment

I applauded the move I don’t know what negative you guys are looking at. Usually Qc kids don’t commit to NCAA. As far as where I rank him I didn’t know 4th round in the Q was an insults . If you are ranked 30-40 in Qc with the Atlantic kids and US kids there’s a realistic chance you will end up 4th round which is better then 95% of the kids playing the game.

I don't know what the criteria is to assume that these 14 year olds will all be drafted junior major. Verrault and Swan are sure bets as well as Warren and Charbonneau. The rest have alot of work to do.

I don't think Patella is a skill player. Overpowers now. Not sure next level. Just because you are top 10 in scoring doesn't mean anything. we know for sure akkouche at montreal gets alot of fantom points. Saw him at Dodge cup. totally invisible. Elie was there best player.

Squires is an 05, not eligible for draft. I would be a bit surprised if Donovan Arsenault was in the first 2 rounds, just don't see his developed as far along as some may have expected since last season. Furlong is a stud on the backend and he will be fun to watch in the coming year, dark horse for me would be Sam Savoie from Dieppe, high end skill good size, quick release could jump into top 2 rounds if he adapts well next year at the midget level

About Arsenault It’s his to lose. He needs to start playing collectively but if he does he will go late first round. I had Furlong higher last year. A lot of kids from Qc can get in the mix for the two first rounds they will have to step up in Midget AAA and stay away from injuries. I kept Swan very high but it will be interesting to see how he comes back from his surgery. Sorry for Squires I had 04 in my notes.

Yeah, Squires would probably be 1st rounder in this draft let alone next year, a lot of high hockey IQ and skill. I am not familiar with the quebec crop so I can only comment on the atlantic region.

A lack of seriousness in your predictions Buzzer Beater
First , how many times have you seen the kids from the maritimes play this year ? loll
You must know them a lot, you put a 2005 in this year’s draft
As for the players from Quebec, 4 or 5 are gone to the prep school (Dumais , Rozzi , Lastarza ,) for season 2019-2020 ....Gravel, Lamoureux are in Ontario....
I can even tell you that 4-5 of your choices won’t even play Midget AAA at 15 years old next year

I think you should stop making predictions, you’ll lose less credibility

Mr. Marcheterre I’m sorry I didn’t mention your son. Might have made it more credible to you. I have seen every kid on that list play just so you know. FYI the kids can play anywhere prep, Ontario, Midget, school, etc. They still will get drafted.

1st comment here! I prefer writing in french so...I'm more active on the Forum À nous les fans.
but recognized some people here (Hi Andy!)

Just an input...Rozzi and Dumais are gone to US for next year. It's a big news!

If not, I won't do a ranking 1 year before but...my 3 favorite are: Swan, Verreault & Luneau.

1st comment but a positive one.
I was at Mtl Meltdown on friday and saturday. Qc and maritimes 04's are extremely strong. A lot of talented forward with skills and speed, big size D that can move the puck and play a fast game and some really good goalies. June 2020 draft should be a good one

Indeed Quebec and Maritime’s 04 did really stood out at the Meltdown.
Both regions were represented in the final. Quebec 04 roster had depth in terms of speed, talent and heart.
They performed well at all positions, playing disciplined hockey (3 zones) and strong fore-checking and well coached.

In regards to the Maritime’s region, not surprised whatsoever about VRED performances.
Atlantic regions have top notch organizations in terms of program philosophy, skills development, hockey people and facilities. We owe them all the credits, at all levels.

Hockey Quebec sent the invitations to Team Quebec U16 camp this week. Does anyone have the full list of players that have been selected?

well I retired from scouting this year so I will not be seeing the guys like I use too so I might only talk about certain guys that I watch but I will not be traveling to Quebec any more unless it is for fun. I say this now but watch things change next year lol
