Hi, just wondering do you ever scout the NL kids???
I do lol...in 2018 I have Mark Hillier (who is from NFLD)...in 2020 the only guy in NFLD who impressed me was Travis Badcock a defender who just could make his way into the 1st round as he has a lot of skill and good play, but is still very raw...but being so young like I said a lot can change by the time the draft comes...for 2019 Zach Dean is a guy who could end up being a high pick, I have not see enough of him yet so I am reluctant to but him top 18 right now for that draft but when I saw him he was great....plus my team would never pay for me to go NFLD to watch a few plays for bantam hockey so I will only see them when they come over to the main land...Deans line mate Ryan Greene looks like a pretty good player as well but from limited viewing I was not sure if Dean was carrying him or not...

Scoutman 1 , thanks for the reply. I have been following this site for a year or so now and very seldom is there a mention of NL players. I agree with you about access to the island I got transferred here last year and I follow the AAA hockey a lot. As for 2018 Mark Hillier I cannot speak off I did not see him play but heard he was a good player. As for 2020 Travis Badcock I did see a good bit and is a good player also but equally as good is his defense partner Liam Marshall both are 04's and the top 2 defenseman on an mostly 03 team and probably in the top 4 or 5 in the mostly 03 AAA league. Babcock is a little more offensive and Marshall more defensive with a unreal shot, which makes for a good pairing. As for 2019 Zack Dean yes also a great player exciting to watch great skater good speed and puck skills and good hands around the net especially in close, only knock he tries to do to much sometimes which can probably be said about most good players. As for 2019 Ryan Greene also a good player good skater, puck control and speed, probably more of a play maker and sees the ice well. Like Badcock and Marshall compliment each other well so does Dean and Greene

Ducks
Carruthers is a freak. If he can learn the game some more second year bantam and first year midget the sky is the limit. Furlong is a fantastic puck mover great pp quarterback and Hopkins well he is an absolute stud, great both ways and doesn’t show any signs of stopping growing!

Agree for the most part, would put Warren 2nd and Luneau higher, when I saw Warren in Sherbrooke he was unreal.. Rozzi is really natural, Charbonneau could be higher, big guy skates so well.

I’m surprised you have Lastarza ahead of Vidicek ? What serparates them for you ?

I can not speak to 2020 picks D man Ryan Hopkins or D man Noah Warren but after watching every game in the 2018 Bantam AAA Atlantics in my opinion I would put D man Liam Marshall and D man Travis Badcock of Tricom Thunder ahead of D man Jake Furlong of the Gulls both Marshall and Badcock are bigger, stronger, great PP, and defend well. Both played a large roll in Tricom winning the 2018 Bantam AAA Atlantic Championship.

Yes I see Arsenault and Biggar this past weekend in the Bantam AAA Atlantics in NL and both are good players, and the best 2 players on PEI. Biggar was the best 03 D man for sure.

What do you mean by Badcock being raw?
i saw him early on...you could see talent in the kid but he was not playing up to his talents suggested, meaning you could see he was capable of much much more than he was playing....but he has since exploded since then.

remember I do not scout bantam hockey...im paid to do midget hockey, so bantam i only watch when I have time.

That's a pretty accurate list. Seen a lot of those players.

Not familiar with all the nfld players except for a couple I seen at the Atlantics. They were solid and one had a very good tourney.

A couple from NB could be there. The 2 kids from QC with the 01/01/04 birth dates as they're not sure of their ages. Interested to see how they develop.

I've seen most of those NS kids play the last 2 years including the ones at the 2018 Bantam AAA Atlantics and I don't see any of them more skilled, stronger and bigger in the '04 group for defense than Tri-Com Thunders Marshall and Badcock. Those 2 were the best '04 defensemen at the Atlantics and I heard they had an excellent bantam year with their '03 team and mostly an '03 AAA league. I watched both at the Ice Jam in January and both had a great tournament as well.

Saw a few players in this class in a Toronto tournament, and they were pretty impressive. Noah Warren, especially. He's obviously got a huge physical advantage, but his decision making is so sound, and he sees the ice very well. Lastarza was uber skilled, and Bishop an impressive puck rusher on the back end.

Gulls are my local Major Bantam team and I gotta say they have some crazy talent on the move going into the Q Draft. One of the best goalies available is Noah Harvey who played 17 games with a 1.16 GAA in his first year of Major Bantam! He had to share half the games with goaltender Jacob Goobie who also has a really good GAA but if Draft Eligible in 2019. Noah’s gonna be a heck of a goalie I’m telling you. He’s a slight bit better then Lane George in my opinion.

Scoot2018, you are either blind or you are stirring shit.
The only way Noah Warren doesn't get drafted top 5 in 2020 is if he is granted exceptional status and gets drafted in 2019.
The kid is 6'4" 200lbs and still growing, he skates like the top 5'10" skaters, he plays a tough physical game - wins all his battles and he has a CHL shot already.
He will play midget AAA at 14 this year and should be on the top pairing.

Talking about the total package! I saw this player in Toronto, not sure he is that tall... but he is in a different league entirely. No contest.

Not surprised to read he will play Midget at 14, he could very well be the next guy in major junior at 15. However it may be NCAA for this kid, let's keep this in mind.

Three 04 underagers made Pre-Canada Games tournament roster for NL that takes place in Halifax, NS Sep 27-30. Forward Nathan Casey, goalie Mitchell Dinn and defenseman Liam Marshall over a deep 03 list of players. Are there any other underagers attending this tournament from the Atlantic provinces? Wondering because I haven't heard

most top quebec born 2004's were at Hockey Quebec camp - but not all based on my limited knowledge - and does anyone project a ranking by position? if so where do you find it?
i gather it is easiest to predict forwards, as defense and goalies have a longer development curve - especially goalies.
