Brent Gates named captain of Minnesota. Underrated prospect to me.
Makes things more fun for meHonestly, why?
You are constantly against fighting and physical play no matter what and if it was warranted or not.Honestly, why?
Consider he's his team's all time leader in penalty minutes, it's probably a cheap play.Don’t you want to see it and know if it was just poorly timed vs a cheap play before making that decision?
Your conclusion might be right but this thought process just doesn’t followConsider he's his team's all time leader in penalty minutes, it's probably a cheap play.
Of course not but it’s safe to assume he has a history of being a dirty player, even if this wasn’t a dirty playYour conclusion might be right but this thought process just doesn’t follow
Usually yes, but with this guys history he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt with me. He was already suspended for 2 games for a hit to the head last season; and now he's done it again. Hits to the head are awful, no matter the circumstances. Don't want players who make it a habit doing that on the team.Don’t you want to see it and know if it was just poorly timed vs a cheap play before making that decision?
So have head hunting goons to curb head hunting...no thanks. The league is stepping away from that mentality and for the better.Cause the league is incredibly inconsistent with penalizing players. If the league isn't going to scare players away from taking head shots on our guys, then maybe a loose cannon or two on the roster might.
Fair enough.Makes things more fun for me
And you're against anyone with speed and skill who can actually benefit the team by scoring if they don't bother to hit or fight. Or you continue to exaggerate and lie about what I don't like. Have I ever shit on Manson because he's tough and fights? Hell no. Do I hate players who have a history of going out to injure people? Yup.You are constantly against fighting and physical play no matter what and if it was warranted or not.
In my world you are innocent until proven guilty. Brad Marchand is a dirty player. Dustin Brown is a dirty player. Corey Perry and Ryan Kesler (as much as we all love them) are dirty players. I've seen those guys make dirty plays with my own eyes.Of course not but it’s safe to assume he has a history of being a dirty player, even if this wasn’t a dirty play
I would agree, but there are suspension head hits like Raffi Torres makes and there are head hits like Cogliano makes. I want to see it myself before I damn the guy.Usually yes, but with this guys history he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt with me. Sorry you seem to be fine with those players; thankfully the league is leaving your caveman mentality behind.

Good to see our prospects learning earlyMcLaughlin is out 6-8 weeks
Ever since the Ducks & Angels became closer via those "Ducks nights" at Angel stadium the Ducks have had the injury bug very bad the past few years. The Angels have had the injury bug for a much longer time & seem to have passed their bad luck to the Ducks.McLaughlin is out 6-8 weeks

Too bad he can never stay healthy otherwise he'd probably have had a good crack at the Anaheim roster by now instead of going back to the SHL.Sorensen with a strong start, leading the SHL in goals with 5 goals in 4 games.
That last game by Comtois motivated me to spend some time watching his games in the Q... and he's way better than I realized. I knew he had high end finishing ability, but his skating and all around high end skill has really surprised me. He also seems be one of those guys that's always around the puck. Guys like Steel and Terry may have flashier games but they dont have the quick first step and the ability to accelerate with the puck like i'm seeing from Comtois. Also the guy just knows how to finish a play, watch his highlights from World Juniors if you havent. I think his combo of size/speed/grit/shot makes him our #1 prospect.
