LOL @ the idea that Severson could ever replace Larsson. Greene-Severson was consistently our worst pairing.

But sure, some cherry picked stats say he was our best last year. Get real.

Terrible game by a number of players including Hall, Rico, Green, Zajac. Severson had a good game until the final play. Cory was our best player, what else is new. All the kids did well. Would like to see some changes. Try Palimeri with Hall and Rico. Wood with Travis and Cammy and DSP with Zacha.

it's first game and all it's all new players so there's a pass there. But if they still suck at producing shots + possession after October it'll be a real sad sight lol. I don't expect much in wins because of how the defense is but Toronto last year with inferior talent was superior in those areas so it'd be nice to see tangible improvement 5v5.

One day maybe we'll have a team that doesn't struggle to score 2 goals lol.



But otherwise just in terms in of the game--they lost to a better team on the road.

Hynes is an idiot for keeping Wood and Speers up just to past them to the bench. Shortened bench really hurt us in the 3rd/OT.

Speers was playing the PK with 2 minutes left in a tie game. Wood was sitting because quite frankly he didn't play very well.

Re-watched the final goal. Technically that's interference but that's rarely going to called unless it leads immediately to a huge chance; it took immediately plus 1.5 seconds for the huge chance to appear in this case.

Any turnover in the zone 3x3 is a "huge chance", especially right next to the cage. It's 100% a penalty that needs to be called.

That said, lets be honest, the Devils were terrible and should have lost that game something like 5 to 2. Maybe worse.

yeah that was Zacha who just threw it away and we never got it back. But Cory also had a chance to freeze it once during that long interval when we never got possession back and he didn't take it.

It was clearly what was going on as well. Guys were not in sync and it lead to tons of missed passes.

Refs have to be extra aware of interference during 3 on 3 because it will almost always lead to a big chance. There isn't enough players on the ice to cover up for that.

The Panthers looked huge. A few notes put Cammy back with Henrique or w/ Zacha. Bennett w/ Hall & Henrique if you keep the pair together.

Eh the comparison doesn't fit now cause the last couple years the Panthers have been better than us. It would have fit more in the DeBoer years when they always played us tough with lesser teams.

Devils passing was awful all game, which makes everyone look slow. It's probably not surprising since almost half the roster was new tonight; people don't have that instant recognition of where their teammates will be yet.
