Should of let Gabriel in the shootout, that would of been interesting

The best thing for us is Cory to return to a serviceable form and we can roll Big Mac and Cory next year, if not no other reason it will cost us zero assets or dead cap.
I don’t see Schneids ever being elite again and we need better than KK in partner with him next season but I think he could be a serviceable backup. I’m down for seeing if that can happen. We have the rest of this campaign to see. The NJD should be using as little of this time as possible on trying out players with no future here and KK is one of them that has none left.

The fault today wasn't not in the defense by far. Defensively this was actually one of their strongest of the recent ones in memory this season. Gryba wasn't bad actually.

The woes were on the lack of clutch finish and patience to make a confident play when the puck was down low.

i thought the defense was better than usual and the goalie came up big when they had break downs. the offense is just not good. were missing a 90+ point player. would be nice to have any sort of update on that but im sure people on here will get mad for me suggesting that as well.

What does PZ’s shootout stat line read? I know he’s been used and he didn’t score. Just don’t remember how many opportunities. I love #63 but he’s not for the shootout. Still living off one highlight reeler.

(For haak84)... But to add to that, Cory also DID play extremely well. I haven't seen his rebound control so good in a few seasons actually. He was a magnet all game long, that cannot be denied.

Edit: Excuse the earlier name typo! lol. That was not intended..

Oh I don’t want him starting. I rather give Blackwood the chance, but if he can be a decent backup, it makes life easier.

I don't understand why Bratt can't translate that silky poise he has in game, into the shootout. The guy is reallly good when he gets a open chance in the slot.........and his shot is pretty accurate.

(I know, today he got the goalposts)... but its a bit baffling he can't work same magic in SO.

Shootouts are just weird and gimmicky. How else do you explain a net zero like JJ being money at them?

Rebound control was sharp. No cheap shortside goals like previous contests. One shaky puck play error very early but that’s it.

I think he can but time to ditch the recycled move. Needs to add more to his repertoire. Expanding his arsenal of moves will help. Current one has given up the ghost.

It's because he tries THE SAME, EXACT MOVE *every single time* he's in the shootout.

He never changes it up whether it's changing the angle of his approach(like what Patty used to do), going full-speed like Hall, or something.

It's always the same attempted Fake-out he did to Mike Condon.

Schneider played awesome! 4th line played awesome! Top of the roster with all the extra ice time couldn’t get it done on the PP or 3on3 or shoot out

I guess that basically sums it up.... Our shootout shooters are pretty bad for many seasons now.

This game actually Cory had a good run in this one. All we needed was someone to bury one and I think Cory would have taken us through.

You need to get through to him, as Bratt fan numero uno...

is it not true?

Is what not true? I'm honestly trying to figure out what you're trying to argue here. You, and a few other posters, seem to believe there's this vocal contingent of fans who constantly make excuses for Cory, when in reality most of us have accepted that he's not good anymore. You're not converting unbelievers here.

It's okay to say Cory had a good game. That's not the same thing as making excuses for him or thinking he's found his game again. It's like as soon as somebody dares say something positive about Cory they're immediately labeled defenders. It's such an odd, annoying, and often downright stupid habit society has these days.

I also don't know why you bristle so much at people saying we've had bad goaltending this year.

Problem is that he always uses Instagram and has thousands of comments there.

His twitter account is barren. (last tweet was back in 2012)

I just have to hope our COACHING STAFF works with him more on Shootout attempts going forward but I want him to improve as a 5-on-5 player first.
