You can, actually.
I mean technically yeah, obviously. We definitely shouldn't though.

Suppose Hall says prior to the draft that he's not signing and Colorado calls, is the 4th a realistic option?
was this not posted?
No. I wouldn't trade Hall for the 4th.
I think if you get to the beginning of the season and he's not signed yet, it's already too late to trade him since prospective trade partners will have their rosters set already. At that point you pretty much have to wait until the trade deadline.
True, but if you start trade negotiations prior to free agency day you still have a shot at a good return. You will get highest value at the draft or at the deadline. We won’t get maximum value in the middle of summer.
If he refuses to sign you wouldn’t trade him for 4th overall? That is insane.
You do that, draft Byram, and never look back.

Byram likely won't be there at 4th overall, and Turcotte for Hall isn't good value, especially when at that point we'll have Hughes and Hischier.
well i mean take this as you'd like but
I'd switch Eberle and Palms, that way, when Eberle inevitably disappears for stretches of the season, he isn't killing an entire line. Hall and Hischier would be good enough to carry him, even when he's worthless for stretches.Hall-Nico-Palms

You roll all four lines. You don’t hide a bottom line for 8 minutes a night. Switch them for situational purposes like holding late game leads (Zajac becomes the 2C in those situations).

Is probably how I run it. Don't want two "green" players on the 3rd line. Could also see a vet addition allowing Anderson and Bastian to play extended minutes in Bingo.
EDIT - Reading further, I see this has all been addressed. Carry on.
Is Nico ready to drive his own line? Do we really need Hall glued to him?
Hall - Hughes could be fun and give Jack some ultra skill from day one.
Gustafsson is 27 and one year away from UFA. Too risky to trade for him if he is going bolt after 1 year or ask for a huge contact on the back of only 1 great season.Even with Ty Smith on the way, Gustafsson is something I would certainly say yes to for Wood. He's not that hard to replace and Gustafsson's don't grow on trees.
If Eberle wants to sign for a 3 year deal, I'd be open to it, but more than that I'd probably pass.I'd switch Eberle and Palms, that way, when Eberle inevitably disappears for stretches of the season, he isn't killing an entire line. bastian is ready for NHL and exactly what this team needs he will be keyLet’s Bastian and Anderson get big AHL reps too. Sign some big tough guys for that 4RW spot to smack folks around if they touch young Jack.
He thinks the price would be Butcher, two 2nds and a prospect, or something like that. Would you do it?
