Only two players in NHL history have more top PPG+GPG finishes than Ovechkin.

Uh, while you seem to have the ability to observe facts from alternative dimensions, can you also please share the winning lottery numbers to us?I’d still take Malkin over OV in that draft year. Pens don’t win 3 Cups with Crosby and Ovechkin.
Incredible work. Pretty mind boggling to consider that Ovechkin has had more points than Crosby for 86% of their careers.
I didn’t realize Crosby has played basically two less seasons than Ovechkin.
OV has been really durable during his career. Considering what happened during the world juniors I thought that wouldn’t have been the case.
Good for both these guys. Two of the all time greats for sure.
Crosby has been pretty invisible the first 4 Pens games. I think maybe he's finished...Aaaand we’re back.

The stats are moot when it comes to who was the best. I don't even think O.V. feels he was better than Crosby over the duration of his career.
They can compare war stories from the ice when they grow old and senile togetherNah, just resting up in the locker room. Old man Ovi not finished though. Compiling his way back up the ranks.
That was 11 years ago.Crosby felt Ovi was the best player in the league in 2010 when he met him in 2010 NHL Awards.
He is a smart guy, best ways to preserve high PPG are to play less or even retire!Crosby has been pretty invisible the first 4 Pens games. I think maybe he's finished...

gretzky "feels" 50 people were better than himCrosby felt Ovi was the best player in the league in 2010 when he met him in 2010 NHL Awards.

Saving it for the playoffs.Crosby has been pretty invisible the first 4 Pens games. I think maybe he's finished...
Of course. I thought this debate died a long time ago.Sid> OVI
Let’s bring those cups in the discussionFactoring in playoffs:
Crosby: 1512 in 1205 GP
Ovechkin: 1451 in 1333 GP
And Crosby’s injuries were why Ovechkin had it in the first place. On the flipside, Ovechkin's injury is the reason why Crosby took it back this season.
Some serious context.Since October 1st 2005, 5,696 days have passed:
- Number of days when Ovechkin was in the lead - 4,884
- Largest lead for Ovechkin - 83 points (667-584 on March 13th and 14th, 2012)
- Number of days they were tied - 42
- Number of days when Crosby was in the lead - 770
- Largest lead for Crosby - 33 points (252-219 on November 17th and 18th, 2007; and on January 12th and 14th, 2008)
ya, its fair to say that he was the best player at the time, but my point was that you can't base it off crosby saying it.To be fair, Ovechkin probably was the best player on the planet at that point. Three straight Lindsays and 1st, 1st, 2nd in Hart voting.
