Does anyone really debate that Ovechkin is better than Sidney Crosby? He's better at scoring goals, that's it.

Does anyone really debate that Mcdavid is better than Matthews at pretty much everything? It's a debate bud, it's how it works.. Difference is, Ovechkin's trophy board pretty much speaks for itself, so there is some validity to that claim.

Pittsburgh, for example, won 2 Cups with a rookie goalie and 1 (in 2009) with a pretty mediocre goaltending performance.

The ironic thing is prime Crosby + Malkin + Hossa + Fleury should have won more than they did. But they won more with Kessel and hot young goalie instead.

Well they only had Hossa for 32 games and made the finals the one year he was there, so they did do pretty well with that combo

You probably mean Staal?

Well ... Crosby missed a lot of his prime due to injury, Hossa only played a partial season with the Penguins, and Fleury is a playoff headcase, so the pattern of their success is not surprising to me.

Ovechkin also missed out on his entire rookie season, 82 games, because of the 04-05 lockout.
If anything, it's a good thing he missed it because the game was so insufferable that they changed the rules to make it more appealing. Goals per game per team was 2.57, the previous season.
