So about these rumors that curfews will be pushed back to a later time or even lifted after March break.
You guys think there is any truth to it? Not gonna lie. I am starting to have a real hard time with this. 8 is too soon. I could deal with 10 or 11 pm if they ain't removing it.
But mentally this is getting ****ing hard.

I agree that 8pm is getting unrealistic with spring coming and sunset getting near 7 PM in 2 weeks.

I saw that France curfew is/was at 6:00pm and the sunset is after.

Public worker are on gold. Job security and pension plan have a huge value.
I know a few bus drivers that were paid full salary to stay at home at the beginning of covid.

I'm in private sector and have reorg twice a year. They cut a few jobs every time. I feel having a sword Damocles above my head each time.
I have a decent salary, but I can't afford to spend it all since I can lose my job at anytime.

Depends on the field as ECW just mentioned. Some workers aren't paid enough and conditions are pretty crappy but at least they have a full time steady job and aren't susceptible to welfare due to lockdown at any moment.

I hope so..8pm is pretty silly, especially for single people. You can't meet anybody, can't go for a bang unless you're gonna sleepover and I don't wanna do that with someone I don't know that well.
I think the last time I had so little sex in a year is probably around the virgin years.
I had sex once in 2021, or twice...that's crazy. I'm the guy who, when single, has sex with two different girls...the same day.
I'm going bonkers here.

I feel you man. Luckily I've had a stable partner that sleeps over. But she legit is the only thing keeping me sane.

I legit moved into my new condo December 2019 and I was so excited to finally have my own place with no roommates and now I can't stand this place anymore. It's all I've seen for the last year. My bday is on March 13th. Same day the casino closed last year and covid hit MTL. I am not excited at all about my bday. It's gonna be a such a depressing feeling when I gotta miss out on another bday party while also celebrating 1 year of covid...

6pm is stupid. Honestly I can't do another month of curfew. I can't. Push it back til 10 for the love of mental health.

I live alone and the curfew has pushed me deeper and deeper into my anxiety-ridden existence. I do not obey the curfew and sometimes sit/walk outside at all times of the night because I have to.

For now, it's planned for international traveling.
Some countries might requires a passport immunity.

a bunch of people went to police station in order to get a contravention after curfiew.

It's like complaining to the cashier about the excessive gaz price.

Curfew shall be removed after the spring break

Did you see those 2 women in the US who dressed up as elderly women to get a shot so they could go to parties?

Orange zone curfew is 9:30 PM. I could see them pushing it back a bit.

It will take a while for children, as the vaccine is not approved for them yet.

Isn't J&J in clinical trials for teenagers and then kids?

I would guess that's the market they will be targeting, in the August window, before kids go back to school.

I believe Moderna is in trials as well. Nothing imminent though.

The point of the curfew is to keep people from gathering together in homes, so being outside alone isn't hurting anyone. Of course, the police won't take your explanation at face value. Sorry that such an innocent activity has become so loaded, but I do understand why you need it.

I totally understand wanting the curfew lifted for people like GoodKiwi, or those who live alone/in a small place and like to walk outside at night.

But otherwise... what exactly are you doing after 8 pm that you want the curfew lifted so bad? Nobody has been able to explain this to me.

There's literally nowhere else to go except other people's houses, which is exactly what the curfew has eliminated. The drop in cases seems to have correlated with people staying home at night. Most everything else has been open during the day.

In winter. Nothing. It's all inside gathering that I'd do. So curfew is acceptable

Spring/summer, it's another story, might go to the park until sunset with my kids or do a walk after kids went to sleep

I see availability for tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. So either high availability or less population were reached out.

In Brossard, it's still 85+ and next availability is late March
Delson it's 80+
It's good to see that there is flexibility and things are going smoothly

Might just be for the feeling of freedom in itself.

Walk it out. Walked more than 50km last week myself. We have 4 months left (maybe another small-er surge). Then vaccines will change the game.

We're here for you.

@A Loyal Dog you should be able to get an appointment for your parents now unless they are considered in Lanaudieres/Laurentides/Montérégie.

I live alone. So spending most nights alone is really starting to weigh on my mental health. It's been 2 months now.

Either to see people or just the illusion of freedom. Most people don't like being told what to do but some people will actually meet people.

[/QUOTE]

Apparently it was never an issue. I'm being very sarcastic.

We looked at schools and workplaces a lot but a lot of CLOSE interaction comes from being near and close to people you trust and go out with. Especially in winter as its freezing outside.

Well I do hope this is part of the plan. It's one thing to be inside in winter, another to be inside in summer. I hope that the sacrifices(+vaccines) today make summer a much better experience. Last year the cases were relatively low in the summer time. School was out as well which is known to be a spreader. Contain virus now and we might have what resembles a semi-normal summer.

Yeah, walking outside is the only thing that really helps. 1-2 hours of walking around makes me calm down. My breathing slows down and my tremors stop eventually.

And thank you!

But they said they were giving more priorities to MTL cause that's where they have problems, so that might explain the difference of age. As for the availability, I guess they can't overbook more vaccine than they are sure to get.

We are supposed to get some Astrazeneca this week and as more vaccine becomes available, more places will open and more availability wil open too. At least that's my guess.

I also expect to see Health Canada approved J&J this week too, so we might have way more vaccine in 2 weeks from now.

I get it now.....my dog died last month, I also live alone now and I nevermind being alone on most night cause I had my buddy with me but now, since he's gone, I'm also starting to feel the pain.

We're getting there, go vaccine go!
