That's an unbelievably shitty headline.

If you read the body of the article you'll find that Moderna ships it's vaccine to us every 3 weeks. So after getting a shipment last week, we were never going to get any shipment from Moderna this week.

That's what I thought. This isn't new information. Just more evidence of media fear mongering.

The difference being Moderna shipped less vaccine than was scheduled in last shipment, that standing I can see your objection to the shitty reporting that is purposely misleading.

"A rare glimpse inside Calgary's COVID-19 isolation hotel, as travelers share concerns."

"During his 14-day mandatory stay in Calgary's COVID-19 isolation hotel, Angelo Vanegas says he couldn't get food for up to 15 hours at a time overnight, was penned up in a small room and had to "beg" to get medical treatment for an infection. He says he felt ignored, disrespected and mistreated..."

"Another traveller, Mitch Beaulieu, said it seemed to him like a sci-fi thriller. Police and security officers escorted him from Calgary's airport to a van with blacked-out windows and took him to a hotel with hallways lined with plastic. There, he was greeted by people wearing hazmat suits, gloves and face masks..."

The two men, now back home, are among the few willing to speak publicly about their mandatory stays in Calgary's isolation hotel.

That's good maybe less people will think about not travelling.

So you'll just get very sick? ;) Will be interesting as more vaccines get approved, and if we actually get to the point where people have a choice, which one they will choose. Guessing we won't end up with a choice.

Some info on travelling.

My parents have to return to Canada by March 30 so they’ve started looking into their options.

The two best ones are either chartering a plane which will allow them to receive a smallAircraft exemption so they can fly in/out of a smaller airport. Depending on the airport they’re flying to there would either be a customs agent on site or they can schedule an agent to be at the airport. In this case they still would require a negative pcr test no more then 72 hours old and they would be required to provide a “quarantine plan” which can include quarantining in their own home.

Second option is flying to an American border city and then entering at a land border crossing. They would still need the 72 hours pcr test to cross the border which will be implemented soon but they wouldn’t be subject to any mandatory quarantine. From there they can take a domestic flight for the final leg home.

Thanks for posting this BB. My grandma is 101 years old (almost 102) and in a LTC center. She's technically in 'independent living' since she's not ill or frail enough to be on assisted living, even though it's an assisted living center. She was told that they weren't allowed to give her the vaccine since she's on independent living status, even though almost everyone else at the same facility got theirs. Ridiculous 'rules'...

Our mom in the same boat. If you can crawl along the floor and blink, you're apparently good enough to wait in line with the rest of the population.:help:

One of them apparently thinks this is a drama play being acted out.:D
I lost both of my parents within a few months of one another about 5 years ago. Both were in the same facility but my mom was technically in LTC while my dad was in assisted living. They were probably no more than 100M apart. It would have made no sense to vaccinate one of them but not the other as there was far too much mixing to suggest that if one got infected the other would not have been at risk.

It's a good thing that Angelo was not diabetic. That said when you travel you should carry some snacks IMO.

That didn't take long. It's all wrapped up. Time for the WHO to move on. I find it bemusing how they call it the Trump theory.

‘Extremely unlikely’: WHO discounts Trump’s origin theory that COVID-19 leaked from Wuhan | Vancouver Sun

"The theory the virus came from a laboratory leak was “extremely unlikely,” Peter Ben Embarek, a WHO official, told reporters Tuesday at a joint WHO-China briefing in Wuhan, the city where Covid-19 first mushroomed at the end of 2019. He said no further research or study is needed into this theory, which has been promulgated by some, including former U.S. President Donald Trump."

"“It could’ve been introduced by a person who was infected and then spread to other people in the market — could be a trader or visitor — but it also could be the introduction of a product,” said Embarek,"
Why should they be spending time and resources on one of the most far fetched theories around?
