Not necessarily. No worse then the whole mask thing at the beginning. I personally think too many are making a bigger deal out of all of this. Yes it's been tough for many people but too many think it's the end of the world

(I edited that, thought I could slip it in before you saw it)

let’s pretend.... Especially if millions of people in distant and not so distant lands are not locked down in order to provide the survival needs for you.

Exercise for you

Make a list of every item you’ve purchased in the past year and think of all the people you have put at risk of dying for your pleasure....Not too mention the sports you watch.....tsk tsk tsk.

Too funny!
You at the CPAC conference?

Feb 29th 2020 on NBC Today Show.....

“Right now, at this moment in time, there is no need to change anything that you are doing on a day to day basis”

Dr. Anthony Fauci

Remember he is the expert and we looked to him for guidance.
Very interesting date. Fauci definitely knew what was about to happen then, as did everyone on the Covid Task Force. But it was all he or any of them could publicly say at the time. Feb. 29, 2020 was a few days after Waddles (thanks to one of his hissyfits) cancelled a meeting with the Task Force where they were going to recommend drastic action.

Prior to Waddles agreeing to the declaration of a national emergency on March 13th, anyone going against his initial Covid stance would have been fired. And at least one guy was.

The apologists all want to compare us to the US, a country that fared particularly poorly, to try to defend this government. But Canada has not done well compared to the world average.

Way more countries below us than above us in deaths per 100k:

COVID-19 pandemic death rates by country - Wikipedia
Among first world countries, we're better than average. And considering many of the countries below us either have incomplete statistical gathering capabilities or are downright full of it (China and Turkey to name two), the "world average" isn't terribly useful.

Which page from your FSB playbook did you pull that one out of?

If companies were following proper protocols, you know the things you feel are stupid and needless, transmission wouldn't be at a bare minimum. Unfortunately for society many people are like you, the "this Covid thing is no biggie" crowd, they don't take proper protocols and get sick. In reality it's the anti masker 'Merica crowd that is powering this spread, sure some decent well meaning people catch it but they catch it from selfish Cletus or Karen, you know the bleach brigade...

Lets play a game, lets say you support your mindless governor, you don't demand that he enacts common sense protocols cause you serpurt freedum.... and many more people die as a result of your governors careless mindless actions, think of all the people you put in danger from not demanding that your state put in common sense protocols? If you vote for Governor "freedum" again are you endorsing state sponsored murder?

I'm just playing my little part to employ people, so they can support their families. If we all stopped supporting the economy, like you would like us to do, it would destroy millions of peoples lives. I'm just doing my patriotic part.

We've spent more per capita than any other country in the world. We should be the very best first world country handling covid and we're not even close. Anyway, my real point is the US is an outlier and a poor comparable for us yet they're the go-to whenever someone wants to make it look like Canada has handled the pandemic well.

What a load of intentionally misleading bullshit, the world average consist of hundreds of nations that are ruled by despots, fascists' and autocratic Kings that want to fudge the numbers to make them look like they are super human in their response to this virus or countries that have few resources to accurately report Covid deaths. Hell 2 billion of the 7 billion people in this world are from India and China, we all know China's numbers are fudged and we all know that 4 out of 5 deaths in India before Covid were never assigned an official cause of death, India does not have the man power or ability to properly report deaths due to Covid.

Sorted by deaths per 1 million... pretty clear to see that Canada (#58) compared to its peers did a phenomenal job. better than every G7 nation except for Japan, better than (#10)) USA, (#14) Spain, (#17) Mexico, (#6 ) UK, (#22) France, (#24) Sweden, (#26) Brazil, (#29) Switzerland, (# 7) Italy, (#56) Russia, (#53) Israel.

I get it , the hate is on for JT and to try and take him down his opponents want to take a US politics approach, fabricate stories that Canada did shitty, to make him look bad. Thing is it wont work in Canada, we have an educated and informed public. the truth is in the numbers.

Fact is Canada for Western Industrialized nations, our repose was the gold standard, the deaths per 1 million prove it..

The US did worse than North Macedonia, WTF is a North Macedonia?

So you're saying they played us? But that's not really what I'm talking about. Some of of those people literally encouraged us to go out and mingle and live normally. That has nothing to do with "freedom fighters", that's them not having any clue whatsoever but they're "the experts" that our leaders are deferring to.

Let me put it this way: the "experts" say clean out your peanut butter jar before putting it into the recycling bin. What do you think has a bigger environmental impact: that plastic jar ending up in a landfill or the amount of tap water it would take to clean it out? Answer that honestly and you'll know where you stand with the "experts".

Clearly the plastic, water is reintroduced to the soil/lakes/rivers and recycled as rain. Plastic can take thousands of years to break down. You may want to rethink your "what about-isms".

He knows that , his routine is to mislead and misinform, he has his own agenda and it has nothing to do with concern about how Canada spent it's money.

Too funny!
You at the CPAC conference?

LOL, well played!

Yep this is a real thing

Perhaps if Senators acted less like teen age girls fawning over a pop star and more like leaders, the death toll in the US wouldn't have been so high. How many Nanny's and Grampies died because of right wing politics? Thousands no doubt.

Very interesting date. Fauci definitely knew what was about to happen then, as did everyone on the Covid Task Force. But it was all he or any of them could publicly say at the time. So what you are saying is there was an idiot in charge of the government response and that limited Fauci in what he could say or do?

Contrast that with this recent quote from Fauci abut his new boss...

“The idea that you can get up here and you can talk about what you know, what evidence, what the science is, and know that’s it – let the science speak. It is somewhat of a liberating feeling,” Fauci said Thursday in his first White House press briefing in months.

WOW.

Glad to see the welfare provinces find it funny.

Say's the guy who lives in the state with the 3rd highest amount of federal government handouts...

Those who live in glass houses...

The ten states with the highest total federal funding are:
  1. California ($43.61 billion)
  2. Texas ($26.90 billion)
  3. Florida ($23.77 billion)
  4. New York ($22.06 billion)
  5. Virginia ($17.68 billion)
  6. Pennsylvania ($15.58 billion)
  7. Illinois ($13.18 billion)
  8. Ohio ($12.57 billion)
  9. North Carolina ($11.31 billion)
  10. Michigan ($10.84 billion)

Federal aid is distributed to states for transportation, public education, Medicaid, community development, and other programs vital to residents

States that receive more federal aid tend to have poorer populations, lower tax revenues, and have more assistance programs such as Medicaid. States with higher income residents tend to receive less federal aid.

Federal aid is distributed to states for transportation, public education, Medicaid, community development, and other programs vital to residents

States that receive more federal aid tend to have poorer populations, lower tax revenues, and have more assistance programs such as Medicaid. States with higher income residents tend to receive less federal aid.
Since you highlighted Florida, they have the large number of Medicare beneficiaries And yet their net funding per resident is in the lower half.

Prolonged close contact is what spreads the virus. Unless a plant has oxygen fed hazmat suits they’re spreading the virus if they have it.

If you’re referring to DeSantis his policies did better than the Govs that had lockdowns and mandates. I don’t support because of party, I literally despise all politicians, however he did follow the science that has been known for years and used the data presented to him and let they young people go while encouraging them to stay away from the elderly. That strategy did not bring the the health care system to its knees.

Pivot much?
You remember all the folks in late Feb and March telling us this was nothing to worry about. For example, this politician was following the advice of NYC health, who was following the feds, led by Fauci.

Was Fauci lying, being lied to, or just incompetent?

I do a light rinse on recycle items but I'm not wasting my water on making it clean.

I pay twice for water, they charge us for using it and charge us the same amount for it going down the drain. Watering the garden is the part that is really annoying as I'm charged a sewage fee equal to all water I use, and it ain't going down the sewer it's being consumed by my plants.

Just saying, unless those items are clean, they likely end up in the landfill. The ironic thing is I'm sure some here would see me as a denier or a climate skeptic, whatever. But I'm the one turning lights off all over the house, worried about using salt on the sidewalk, I guilt people all the time about rinsing paints, oil, etc., into storm drains (do people have any clue this is a direct line into the lake/ocean with zero treatment?). I'm so much more environmentally sensitive than pretty much anyone I know but I'd be looked at differently because I'm realistic about certain things.

It is a balance, if they aren't clean enough (usually aluminum) some other species can dig it up in 100,000 years when we're long gone.

I have my hybrid using 5 litres per 100, recycle, check country of origin for products, work for free .5 to 1 day per week for the people. But I'm not all in I still eat meat. If you eat meat you aren't all in. And really you shouldn't eat apples unless they've fallen on the own. ;-)

Yeah, I think people today know you don't use storm drains for toxic material.

Actually, here you can't even wash your car letting the water go down the drain.

Has anyone in the media asked the doctors, public health officials or the government why cases and hospital census in the UK continued to decline after the variant was discovered?

It's pretty simple if you want to look for the answers without being biased one way or the other. In late January the CDC and WHO warned that the PCR test at anything over 30 cycles was likely to lead to false positives. Now the companies that have those testing machines updated their firmware or software to reduce the amount of cycles per test. Thus, the false positives were mostly eliminated from the equation. Why people in the media and government are baffled by the sudden drop in cases is hilarious. Doesn't anyone read the news?...especially from the CDC and WHO?

So we had over 4k cases a day in ontario in mid to late January...and magically the cases drop to just over 1k within a few weeks...and people think its because of a vaccine that barely got a chance to roll out. It's comical actually...and BTW...I called this exact scenario amongst my friends back in the fall when the election was done...I just assumed it would have been done sooner (lowering the PCR cycles) than late January.

Who was advising everyone? Was he lied to, was he lying, or is he incompetent?

In the hierarchy of the US government who has more power the POTUS or the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases? Who was the guy who was caught in over 60,000 lies over a 4 years period and is currently under multiple federal and state investigations for fraud, tax invasion and was impeached twice? Who is about to be charged for insurrection?
