The sponsors and companies investing in CFMTL doesn't mean the seats will be full of people in suits. It can be companies buying tickets in bulks and send their employees and families to games. So regular people will be attending, much as it's been for years. Or tickets can be won on the radio and all of that stuff.
The Ultras and 1642 have taken a real big issue with this change. So if supporters' groups die down, it will be because they chose to. I really don't believe the club wants to eliminate them. And if the supporters' groups take issue with the club getting more corporate support, than they're not really being supporters, in my opinion. It will come off more like they don't want the club to grow, but that they want to just keep it in its little corner of the city's sports scene so only they can support it.
Also, if Gilmore turns Saputo Stadium into another Bell Center, it will be a successful strategy because while the Bell Center has a lot of corporate support and partnerships, it is still one of the loudest buildings in the league. And the ambiance does not suffer because of it. So if Stade Saputo can have the corporate sponsorships and partnerships while keeping that ambiance that we like in State Saputo, then it's a successful strategy.
