I think the NBA should just cancel the rest of the season, that way that traitor LeBron won't have the satisfaction of returning to the playoffs this year while the Cavs are in last place.

You won't find many Cavs fans calling LeBron a traitor these days.

- Signed a Cavs fan who hated his guts, called him a traitor, actively rooted against him, and wanted his teams to be embarrassed every year like the Mavs did to them in 2011 until LeBron returned home and fulfilled his promise in 2016. We're good now. He was free to do whatever with no animosity from me.

On another note, anybody watching The Last Dance? It's so good.

I feel so sorry for friends online booking flights and hotels to Vegas when the Bills play there because the chances the game will be played before fans is pretty damned remote. If I knew the Bengals opener was going to be open to fans I would've flown in from NY to go to it.

I think OSU football will be primed for another national title run. As it is, they are the non-Southern team most likely to win the title, being the only team from outside the South to make multiple CFP appearances. If they make it in next season it will be the first time a non-Southern team has been in the CFP back-to-back years. But because the South has been so dominant throughout the two-poll era, I pretty much root for any Northern team and occasionally Western team to win a CFP title. I even thought the first CFP's results were a sign of things to come, with more non-Southern teams winning titles, but since that time Southern teams have won the last 5 national titles. I don't know about you but I'm proud to be a damn Yankee.

It's not just that SEC teams rarely play in inclement weather, but the bowls are all played in agreeable climates, too.

Which leads me to this. There should be a bowl game played in Cleveland. As it is, First Energy Stadium is the oldest NFL venue never to have hosted an NFL postseason game of any kind. Not only that, more CFP title games should be played in outdoor stadiums up North. Games 11-20 should be in Foxboro, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Kansas City, East Rutherford, Philadelphia, Landover, and Green Bay - not necessarily in that order. Cleveland is hungry to host any form of postseason football above the high school level at this point.

I've also proposed an expanded CFP that limits each side of the Mason-Dixon Line to 4 representatives: non-Southern teams in the Blue bracket, and Southern teams in the Gray bracket.

Under this format, last year's CFP regional semifinals would have been Penn State at Ohio State, Wisconsin VS. Oregon at CenturyLink Field (Autzen Stadium does not meet capacity requirements for the CFP), Georgia at LSU, and Oklahoma at Clemson. The first two would be the Blue semifinals and the last 2 would be the Gray semifinals. It also guarantees a non-Southern team in the CFP title game, preventing it from matching two Southern teams again as all the CFP's all-Southern matchups have to occur in the early rounds.

The NY6 games would take turns being the Blue and Gray finals.

Problem is Cleveland is not a destination especially in January.
Now if you want to host the 7th place Big Ten Team vs 3rd place Mac Team, sure (like in Detroits bowl game) but no one wants to spend $150 on tickets to sit in the cold.
I've been to Phoenix and S Florida, New Orleans (sadly have never made a Rose Bowl) for championship level games and part of the allure is decent weather.

Weather is also a huge reason why I want Clemson to come to Columbus to play OSU some time in the future the week before OSU plays Michigan. The reason we haven't beaten them ever is because none of the games featured cold weather for Clemson to wither in.

And to counter your argument that Cleveland is not a destination in January - there's all kinds of stuff to do in the area in January. There's ski resorts, casinos, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame among other attractions.

That's all we need in this country right now is more North vs. South stuff. Next thing you know people will start bringing flags into it. :(

OK given recent events I'm now advocating each half of my proposed CFP format bracket now be named Osborne for the non-Southern teams (after former Nebraska coach Tom Osborne) and Bowden for the Southern teams (after former West Virginia and, more famously, Florida State coach Bobby Bowden). I felt these new names were the safest for my proposed format. Both actually met for a national title during the 1993 season (Bowden won).

Whether a team would go in the Osborne or Bowden bracket is whether or not the team is located in a state defined by the US Census Bureau as part of the South, as indicated in this map here:

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipe...Regions_and_Division_of_the_United_States.svg

This means a team like Maryland, while more strongly identifying as Northeast nowadays, would go in the Bowden bracket.

I suddenly have multiple sports options again.

Either I can watch how our play-in opponent will be doing in their exhibition game, or I can watch the Crew starting off in the knockout round.

WHAT IS THIS STRANGE FEELING I DO NOT UNDERSTAND

The Crew is not good tonight if that helps in the decision making.

Lydia Ko really "blue jacketed" the LPGA tournament in Toledo today.

5 shot lead with 4 holes to play. Double bogeys 18 to lose by 1 shot.

College football about to be cancelled for the fall.

Timing should not surprise anyone from OSU. Friday 8/7/2020 was move in day. They did not want to announce football or fall sports was cancelled until everyone was moved in.
My guess is they will go to remote learning, but they wanted the $$$ for the rooms locked in.
