Engel’s needs to learn how to get more information. He sucks up putting it VERY nicely and provides nothing else other then vague crap. You would think we could have atleast a couple of reliable sources.

Engels has definitely become a mouthpiece for the Habs. It's too bad, he used to have more credibility.

When? He used to work for Eklund.

I'm aware. He's been liberated from the clutches of Eklund for years now. He used to do the Habs articles there and they were very good.

Up until he became one of the main Habs reporters, he was still good. Not so much today.

He's repeating what he's been told by the organisation, don't think he knows more than what they want him to know.

There's that thing that happened back then when Price and his wife were totally pissed off at the medias when they announced she was pregnant before they could told their family and friends themselves. I would understand if they didn't want any medias to know anything about it.

I don't think its anything to worry about just yet. There is no reason to believe it will be long term.

It might be nothing. It might be his wife going into labour. It might be long-term. We're forced to let our imaginations create all sorts of scenarios because the Habs refuse to fill in the blanks. The org is happy to stoke the fires of our crazy fan base when they want to sell us something, but when we ask for info about our star goalie... we get static. What arrogance. What laziness. Let's see if someone can muster up five minutes of energy to throw a crumb to their cash-cow fans.

When an organization avoids any clarification on this very sensitive issue they deserve every ounce of scorn and all the stupid rumours. Perhaps he is getting testing done today? If no info is out after the weekend then I agree.

That's fair. But that's the exact kind of update that should be coming from the Habs.
I think the worst part is that they've been down this road before and were heavily criticized for it and then promised more transparency.

I'm personally not that worried that it's something serious, but the team does a poor job of getting ahead of stuff.

Exactly. You figure they'd learn from experience, yet here we are again with more stony silence. Do they not realize all we want is the simple courtesy of knowing the nature of the problem, and maybe a timeline for evaluation? The longer they say nothing, the louder they send the message that they owe us nothing.

With my conspiracy theorist hat this morning (That's what the lack of transparency does):

1- I don't like the fact that the organisation announced it once the team was in the air (plane). Seems like they wanted some times to prepare for damage control or keep this thing quiet as long as possible. But then again, they don't want to go out and say it's going to be a week with a minor injury and then end up being months like the last time.

2- At the practice, no one saw anything wrong with Price. He seems pissed at one time throwing pucks, but kept doing the drills and he left a little early. Even after practice some players (Kotka) expected Price to play and wasn't aware of any injuries.....which fueled the theory that Baby Price is on the way.

If i were a betting man i would bet that Price got something like a sprained ankle, could have been on the bench but since his wife is expected any day now, decided to stay in Montreal instead.

If it's long-term.....then we could forget the season and plan to sell big time comes TDL

Does this really bother you at this point? It's not like knowing the truth will somehow change anything... He won't get back earlier or later based on what the organization releases as information...

That's a personal choice though :naughty:

I don't know the exact timing...I know Eric Engels was the first one to report from practice that Price had left early and the announcement from the team, the very brief & intentionally uninformed twitter announcement, was done shortly after.

Whenever anything is up with Price, I think people are naturally going to go back to that episode from a few years ago where the team kept pushing back his return and kept everyone in the dark about the nature of his injury.

I don't think we're there yet...if it was a serious injury, it would have been noticed by the many beat writers who were on scene.

If i were a betting man i would bet that Price got something like a sprained ankle, could have been on the bench but since his wife is expected any day now, decided to stay in Montreal instead.

If it's long-term.....then we could forget the season and plan to sell big time comes TDL
After being off for a couple of days...I'd bet it's probably a groin strain, those things can be minor but can also linger, so all things considered, it's probably best he sits out a few days.

I think at this point...it's fine, I mean, whatever happened, happened yesterday.

But if over the next few days its still radio silence and no one knows how long he'll be out for or what the nature of his injury is...then it's another in the long line of poorly handled public relation faux-pas this organization tends to enjoy making IMO.

I honestly think this is actually a myth propagated around here...

The organization has no problem to call a spade a spade IMO.

We had quite some injuries lately and they announced them without a problem... Shaw, Byron, Armia, Weber...

People are panicking and overreacting for no reason often though...

Because Arnia, Shaw, Byron have the same impact as Price....? I don't see how you can call this a myth when we were left in the dark each time in regards to Carey Price. And it seems it is happening again.

I'm not a fan of Bergevin at all, but I don't see why people expect the team to give detailed injury accounts to the public.

First of all, the information is then available to other teams.
Second, medicine can be complex, sometimes doctors, even great ones, need time to figure things out.
Third, one can argue that the medical information is private. The patient, doctor, and team deserve to know, but the public is not entitled to that information.

Why did you omit Weber though? Narrative much?

Weber is probably the second most important player on this squad and they had no problem to tell us what was going on with him.

Again, I just don't understand what the f*** would the point to lie(because that's what some of you are literally implying)...

Sure...I think there's something to that, as I mentioned, i'm not personally worried at all.

But the team, traditionally, has been a lot more careful with even minor ailments with Price...so we'll see what comes out, if anything, over the next few days.
