I'm with you. We should be patient with Kuzya, but scratching him seems a bit excessive to me.

I'm sure it wasn't a willy-nilly scratch. There was certainly a specific reason for it, whether it was something Kuznetsov did wrong or the desire for a more defensive lineup on the road.

We've done this for three weeks and have lost every single time.

You can't just play defense for 20 minutes. It doesn't work.

They did the same thing against Calgary. Not a fan of the 1 goal lead turtle at all.

Plenty of players have been scratched and taken that as a teaching moment and learned from it. No reason to think Kuzy is going to cry, take his ball and run home.


I for one think the occasional scratch for a young guy can be useful. Let's them get a different perspective.
