Still wondering how Poolboy got $10 million of 1 assist last season

team has crashed down to earth. playing against good teams florida/carolina/tbay. f*** u aquaman for postphoning last weeks game killed all the momentum. at least the 8-0-1 run was fun while it lasted. time for JR to evaluate some players and turn this roster upside down

Him cancelling the ottawa game as tune up before the this road trip is one of the dumbest things he has done as an owner.

And Boudreau is welcomed to the reality of the Canucks. Back to the PP being fruitless, back to the sad state of the back end and back to the reality of playing ourselves out of the playoffs.

Last three games pretty much the same. Decent effort but simply lack the talent and team speed to prevent getting broken down and their play getting fragmented.

Carolina is an example of the fact it takes years to put together a good team. Need the time to get your systems fully integrated with right personal. Under bozos we've had running the team, there was little of that.

Team not getting enough out of many players: OEL (looking more and more like a liability - especially around his net) Garland (playing only in spurts), Boeser (can't get to the net), Hoglander, Dickinson (gets nothing done) , Podkolzin (looks to be hitting the wall), Poolman (putting Hughes with him only seemed to take Hughes out of the play). Also play of Miller has fallen off.

Special case is Pettersson. Still a total disappointment although actually seemed to pick up play after getting the skate to the head. Comment here recently on these boards, about possible post concussion syndrome, might explain a lot in terms of the awkwardness and mis-timing in his play. But you don't want to go there without more evidence

Final Judgement on Benning is that he left us with a team that is not good enough to make the playoffs, a line up with some definite anchor contracts (OEL looking to be the worst), and has little to no prospects. Dismal thinking but if you step back and look at the overall situation we may be looking at the need for a significant re-build.

Canucks need to win 2/3 remaining games to make the playoffs.

Very curious to see what types of offers Baby Ruth is getting for JT.

Hopefully a game changer.

Boeser should 100% be dangled given play and upcoming RFA status.

Biggest issue is trying to fix the mess of a defence.

These are good 'measuring stick games' for Rutherford. And what they expose is an alarming lack of foot speed up and down the lineup. It's a deficiency he's already hinted at in previous interviews as the new President.

Going up and down the list, Pearson, Dickinson and even Boeser...too slow. Even guys like Hoglander and Perttersson aren't showing much 'separation speed'. And on the back end, Schenn, Myers and Poolman are getting exposed too many shifts out there. And that pairing of Schenn and Hunt, which gave up the third goal, just isn't an NHL d-pairing.

The only positive about all this is that unlike his predecessor, Rutherford and the incoming GM won't hesitate to pull the trigger on major changes. I don't see how they can give Boeser a qualifying of close to $7m a season. And Miller is too valuable to let his contract drift into his UFA season next year. So one, or maybe even both, are gone by the trade deadline.

And in the short term, they really need to Rathbone up here. Once he played a couple of games for Abbotsford to get back up to speed after his injury, he needs to be slotted into one of the pairings with the Canucks. He may not be much of an improvement over Hunt, but he's younger with a lot more upside.

It doesn't get any easier tomorrow in Washington, with a backup to the backup, Spencer Martin, likely to get the start.

Like honestly, we’re not even playing that awful on this road trip, we’re just literally outclassed every game.

We have played way worse this season, and last.

Considering the perfect storm of cancellations and brutal road trip right afterwards we are playing great. Tonight the Canes were what I call the "New Big Red Machine", just about perfect, reminded me of the classic Soviet teams. What amazes me about them is how they can excel in an environment that is filled with music that is as terrible as it is. Their DJ should be horsewhipped...

Our team can't even skate.

OEL looks like hes skating in quicksand. Back to Arizona OEL. Only 6 years left yay!

Boeser can barely skate, Pearson is so slow, Petey can't stay on his feet.

Good teams just skate circles around us and our D corps

Doesn’t help when Miller,Boeser,EP, Garland go quiet.
That’s part of being outclassed. Top players good enough and roster isn’t deep enough to make up for it either.

Bruce has done a decent job so far squeezing what he can out of this team at 5v5 but he’s not a miracle worker. Too many weaknesses.
